Marc Savard out for, well, forever

Post by tantalum »

As the topic title says, Savard is out for the next season and likely forever. This all stems from the initial Matt Cooke elbow a couple years ago.

Matt Cooke was an exciting player at one point. He was fun to watch third line energy player who could put up a few points.

At some point, probably about the 2003/04 season, his style of play became more than a little irritating to me and I was happy when he was sent out of town. The cheap shots, turtling, high hits, elbows, etc. all got very old. At this point, I can't stand the sight of his toothless mug. The Savard hit was just the icing on the proverbial cake to me. I hated him way before then.

I wonder if Cooke cares at all, or has contacted Savard with apologies/remorse.

Given that he's still a little shitheel on ice, I'm guessing not.

He was an exciting fun player while he was here, but good riddance.

I was wondering about that just yesterday. Technically he didn't play enough games to get his name on the cup. Who knows if he'd even want it on only out of pity.

So much for Colin Campbell suggestion that Savard was always a diver and had to be taken with a pinch of salt
cheers
