Wow, another Ballard derailment

My prediction is every thread in 2011-2012 will end up being about Ballard.

Because even if a thread is not explicitly about KB4, it will be because those thread-peeps are deliberately, I say deliberately, excluding him... for no good reason! ;)

I think you forgot to mention walked on moon, walked on water and invented both internet and porn. Your post reads like a Father's Day card I wrote in grade 4. Yes, I am Aaron Rome. BTW, I think you forgot to end this hyperbolic, AV fellating ode in your excitement to type out all those names. 6 lines of words and it's still not a complete sentence. That has to be a record. Is it the same coach that couldn't make Grabner an NHLer? Isn't that part of the reason we moved him for Ballard? OMG, AV is responsible for this trade that he hates.

Michel Therrien turned Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin into stars right out of junior. He took his team to the SCF. Then he got fired 57 games later and hasn't been rehired into the NHL. I won't bother listing the other players he clearly must have created as coach.

Fred wrote:The other prediction I'll make is fans will use the excuse ...."Well we had a lot of injuries " yet again. This team is not built to absorb physical play.....IMO hence the long litany of injuries in the play-offs

It couldn't be the ridiculous annual travel could it? My god man, Bruins fans could have driven to games in the first 2 series. They never left their time zone until the Finals. Never mind the 82 other games. It all takes a toll.

This term "excuse" is totally stupid. When your best players are hurt it is a problem. What exactly does "not built to absorb physical play" even mean anyway? Oh wait, it means nothing in the normal realm of logic.

I predict it is ridiculous to predict (errr, GUESS wildly) who we will be playing in the 2nd round.

Sometimes it gets so frustrating. I mean if you believe everything you read you would believe we had a failing season not game 7 of the SCF. We had an extremely successful season. We lead the league in most statistical categories all year. And yes, we suffered some very serious and numerous injuries at the wrong time. And oh ya, that travel thingy does have an impact. But these are not excuses just realities of playing on the West Coast. Facts. And yet still I think we were the better team, except for a few key injuries.

Seriously, I think Flames fans are less disappointed in their team. All it took for us to lose the SC in 7 games was several key injuries, a Conn Smythe, Vezina winning opponent and the Ballard trade. Apparently George Carlin was right: think how stupid the average person is then realize half the population is even stupider.

I'm not sure what team some have been watching all season long last year, but the team was a pretty physical team. They weren't goons or anything but they weren't afraid to give and take hits throughout the season.

What a disappointment that the 'not physically strong enough team', who had the toughest travel schedule in the NHL, couldn't win a SCF game 7. Truly disappointing to be cheering those guys on. :P

I think pretty much any Canadian, Swede or Finn can walk on water, for at least three months a year...

2) After Raymond’s recovery from his back injury, he can’t regain his skating speed, and languishes on the 4th line and in the press box for the duration of the year. The Canucks do not qualify him and he becomes an UFA - so the Boychuk hit essentially ends his career.

Ulp... :(

Canucks' Mason Raymond not sure he'll play again, still out indefinitely with broken back

A couple of month ago I saw Hamhuis in the grocery store and was thinking of congratulating him on a very good season personally and for the Vancouver Canucks. I let him shop in peace, but HW, your comment nailed it.

Well, I'm sure he wouldn't have thought much of it had you removed your glasses. Well, aside from you refusing to shave your playoff beard that is.

Yeah, maybe it was for the best... good thinking Top.

I'm trimming my beard today, first time since February. The avatar photo is very tame by comparison.
