As far as the name goes,it looks as if Jets is by and far the most popular, I like the Winnipeg Thrashers too
I read somewhere the guy that runs the Moose now (Name starts with an H, can't remember it though) will be head of hockey operations.
I highly doubt they keep the Jets name. It'll be a Manitoba team. Manitoba Jets doesn't ring to me. Plus why not make more money in rebranding? New logos means new jerseys to be bought. Plus I bet the old Jets stuff still gets sold a ton.
It would be insane to go w/ anything other than the Winnipeg Jets. They have history there, there is nostalgia...they can bring back alumni like Hawerchuck, Babych, Selanne, Tkachuk, Essensa, Lukowich & Bobby Hull. New jerseys plus a retro 3rd jersey. Huge bucks. Anything else is starting over and the Moose is a minor league team. Who cares what effort was put into the Moose brand, the Jets brand already has league wide recognition. Go Jets!!!
The $60million relocation fee is BS and a cash grab. Nothing like financially handicapping a brand new franchise situation. Reaks of what David Stern did to the Grizzlies on some level.
