Home advantage ?

Post by Tiger »

Assuming the Canucks maintain their league winning position we will have " Home advantage". This year it hasn't counted for much , in fact many of the leading teams are better on the road than at home.. I had too much time on my hands today so took a look at the stats as of now.. I added in some western teams that are in the mix to make the playoffs. I counted OTL's as losses as there are no loser points in the playoffs .. Just wins and losses.

On paper ( which in the playoffs doesn't mean much )... we should hope to meet teams with bad road records .. here it is !

Teams with better road than home records:

Detroit
San Jose
Minnesota -though not much

worse road records than home.
Calgary - worst road record of all
Anaheim
Chicago - though not much difference

Close to same road and home
Phoenix
Dallas
LA
Nashville

Eastern conference ..
Better on the road.
Boston
NY rangers
Buffalo
Philadelphia ( not much difference )

Better at home
Pittsburgh
Washington
Montreal
Tampa Bay

Vancouver ? 23-12 home. 22-13 on the road. Not much home advantage.
