Looking back at the history of the league makes you wonder - what is all this bullshit about the 'original six'?
Re: NHL Uniforms OT
Looking at the old uni's.. both times Canucks had a run for the cup ( 82 and 94 ) they had the black and yellow uni on... Maybe back to the Pumpkin and Black to shake off the bad luck ?

Re: NHL Uniforms OT
I think it'd take far more than that to get us back to the promised land. Plus, if the team decides to come up with yet another new Jersey in the next 20 years I am going to burn GM place (or whatever our stadium at the time may be) to the ground. I am sick of constantly relaunching our sweater. It's just a huge cash grab. I don't mind minor variations to sell a few more, but completely redoing the main logo/jersey for the umpteenth time really drives me up the wall.Tiger wrote:Looking at the old uni's.. both times Canucks had a run for the cup ( 82 and 94 ) they had the black and yellow uni on... Re: NHL Uniforms OT
Honestly the canucks have had way too many jerseys and its annoying that this team has had 3 different primary logos.. probably a fourth coming soon with the Johnny Canuck logo. But i still love the Black, yellow and Orangey red. I'm just trying to figure out a logo that would work for those jerseys if they went back as the "speghetti plate" isn't going to cut it anymore unless it was just a retro jersey.. as there were way too many complaints initially.
I will say that im finally starting to fall for the back to the old Blue, Green and White scheme. As i'm starting to consider buying a new canucks Jersey.. i just can't stand the Vancouver wordmark... what the hell were they thinking..
Anyways im hoping to come up with some cool canucks concepts i guess just for the fun of it.. but yeah if i come up with anything worthy of showing off ill put it up here.
as art is a passion in life i would love to discuss other teams jerseys as well.

What...we've got uniforms now just for overtime periods? Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
"Tie game at 3-3...now getting ready for overtime. The Canucks are coming to the bench in their usual overtime uniforms..."

I agree. For the it's 39 years of existence so far the Canucks have never had any lasting identity. Too many ownership changes, to many rebrands for anything to really stick. Even the word "Canuck" has gone through numerous interpretations.Broda wrote:Honestly the canucks have had way too many jerseys and its annoying that this team has had 3 different primary logos.. probably a fourth coming soon with the Johnny Canuck logo. Re: NHL Uniforms OT
You think so? It's hard getting used to see that blue as their primary colour and the fact that their names aren't arched either rubs me the wrong way... it's probably one of the better thirds out there though, most of them stink.Broda wrote:oh don't you worry Jhock, definitely have that site on my favs list already...

Re: NHL Uniforms OT
i rather liked them. I like the blue they have.. im really not a fan of there home and aways.. just hate how drab they look.. I think the blue brightens em up. Just wish they had the strip around the waist.. which is probably my biggest pet peeve amongst the new jerseys designs... Teams like the leaves, Coyotes, lightning... anyways teams with nothing going on around the waist piss me off... they look so much better with stipes
Re: NHL Uniforms OT
I totally agree, hockey jerseys just aren't the same without those waist stripes... I agree their colours are nice and unique and their jerseys are quite boring... the signature shoulder yokes they have are now awful as well as the side paneling... same goes for the Calgary Flames...Broda wrote:i rather liked them. Top 10 NHL jerseys (in no particular order):
Flames alt
Blue Jackets set
Oilers home
Minnesota alt
Devils set
Flyers home
Penguins alt
Blues set
Capitals set
leaves alt
and obviously the classics: Bruins, Wings, Habs, Rangers, Hawks
Re: NHL Uniforms OT
I just wish the flames Alt was rbk cut.. i'm very partial to the form fitting jerseys.. im not a fan of the mass amounts of jersey you get with the now vintage ones.. My favorite Jersey i own is my Linden authentic road yellow and red era jersey. I just wish it fit me better.. wicked part is my uncle got it for me when i was about 14 and its still huge on me... i am considerably bigger.. than a forteen year old..
ooooh quick update... Panthers new Alts are out tonight.. just about to watch them play the pens.. hopefully Crosby doesn't jump another panther at the faceoff dot...
I'll get to my list soon.. I'm just in the process of making some canucks black red and yellow kits.... home whites, road and two alts...
i knew i should have read the rest of your list.. i get excited easily... and tangent...
new preds jerseys thirds look pretty nice too.

Re: NHL Uniforms OT
The new Panthers alt is fantastic!!! It reminds me too much of the Pens' version but it's one of the few classic looking new alts out there. I actually don't mind the FLA shoulder patch although I still prefer if teams didn't abbreviate, i.e. Sens and "Bolts."
I got a couple jerseys in my collection and I'd like to add more but they're just too darn expensive. My favourite's my white vintage Linden. And then I have two more: the Ducks black/eggplant alt with Lupul/15 they wore during the pre-lockout playoffs and a Malkin/71 Winter Classic.
Next up I'm either thinking the Flyers home with Richards or a Bruins home with Lucic. I might even venture out and get the Blackhawks home with Sharp or Seabrook or Keith... if I can put aside my biases...
Glad to see there's someone else here who's a big fan of hockey aesthetics.
