Decent hit, and a draw in the fight IMO. The thing I do like about him is that he isn't afraid to drop the gloves and will stand up for his teammates.

It seems to me that he needs some more upper body strength to contend with a top tier fighter.

I do like the signing though, don't get me wrong.

That is the funniest thing I have seen for a while - nice post! :D

And against the Laffs, no less!

Heavyweight? Hopefully there's some other evidence

I'd like to see a video of one of our new signing actually winning a fight...
These aren't bad, he can really throw them:

Actually from some of these videos, it looks like he has to work on his lower body strength, b/c he gets knocked off his skates a little easy...esp. when he winds up the haymaker. :)

Well, Gillis is really scouring for some character guys for the bottom 6 forwards. Comparing Ryan Johnson (PK & shot-blocking specialist), Darcy Hordichuk, and now Davison to the guys that Nonis would sign (Chouinard, Santala, Cowan, Park, Ritchie, Isbister), there's definitely a difference. DN wanted guys that had some talent, and might fit the defense-first system. Gillis wants guys who are gritty, and might be good in one specific area (hitting, blocking shots).

Very interesting guy, this Gillis.

A former Gillis client whom, Gillis said, they had targeted from the get-go. Ah, the competition to sign him must have been fierce.

Depth on D is always good though. And if you can't score, might as well be able to pummel crease-crashers.

Maybe look at it another way, he's our 7th d-man that can take a punch!

Davison is hardly a heavyweight enforcer. He won't back down and he'll add team toughness in the 7th D-man role. Hordichuk would mop the floor with Davison.

I like it.... Finally the Canucks are getting tougher .... I, for one , was getting tired of watching Luo get run and nobody retaliating.. Team has been too soft for many years... No offence to Cowan... but 1 undersized enforcer just doesn't cut it. Good 7th dman I think
Nuck fan Since 1970 and still no Cup :(
