whoa...
um. why?
what does this do to Brunstrum? How does this affect anything we do this summer? Why do without another GM in hand? Are we promoting Tambelini? Can you really fire a GM after one bad year when he hasn't really done anything overly stupid? Especially with no one else lined up?
I wanted something to happen but I don't know if I like this...

My thoughts exactly.randymeeks wrote:Holy geez..... I didn't see this one coming? Who are we going to replace him with? Let the debate begin.
Wow this is huge. I think there's more to just a bad season to his firing. So who's out there? Neil Smith, Doug Armstrong, Curtis Sandford? Or maybe Tambellini gets promoted. This is huge.
GO CANUCKS GO !!!

Holy shit eh? I can't believe this. I was sure he'd stick around. Maybe that Sun reporter wasn't so wrong about Brunnstrom being unsure about his future. So who takes over? Tamby?
Holy shit I am still trying to digest this. I really don't think that Nonis did a bad job this offseason. I guess he was on the verge of doing something and ownership blocked it. Yikes. What of Vigneault? He's Nonis' man. This could be an even bigger offseason of change than we thought.

Don't you mean one GOOD year out of three? 2 years out of three with no playoffs is not exactly a good record.stevethiessen wrote:whoa...

Well Aquilini did not hire him and obviously did not trust Nonis to do the job this summer. His lack of addressing the scoring at the deadline was probably the last nail in the coffin. Nonis did nothing, but could have did what Nashville did. Take a chance on some players for little to no cost. They picked up Hlavac at the deadline for futures and he scored 13 points in 18 games. How many Canucks scored that or more?rockalt wrote:Holy shit! Aquilini doesn't have much patience does he? Big big news. I guess that Vancouver Sun article about the GM's future being in doubt was right. Well I sure as hell hope Aquilini has someone lined up because this team needs a lot of work.
I just hope they don't go old school in their hiring (Quinn or some old fart like that)
Maybe a good chance to upgrade the scouts too.
