Orange Fowl Towels & Tickets

Post by *CanucksForLife* » Thu Apr 26, 2007 11:18 am

I cannot believe how ugly those things are. Seems like every team in the league is trying to copy our Towel Power wisdom. That bright shade of orange looks ugly and it looked like the fans were embarrassed to wave them because you never saw them waving.

Also, I heard then found out that nosebleeds in Anaheim are going for $35. Wow. Honda Center is the quietest building in the playoffs, even though they probably have the best team in the league. What a waste of a great team. They should move the Ducks to Winnipegg and make Disneyland2.

Everyone needs to get over Towel Power.

Anyone notice that the Ducks pretty much just have the Canucks' old uniforms? Orange, gold and black... even in similar proportions.

It's duck a l'orange!

So many teams have copied our towels. I'm sure 99% of the fans have no idea of the significance of the towel waving. I've said it before and I'll say it again. No team that has to announce that the home team is on the "Pooooowwwerrrrrr Plaaaayyyyy" deserves any playoff success.

I was in Anaheim a couple of weeks after they made it to the finals in 2003 and you'd never know an NHL team existed in that city (L.A. Suburb).

I'd rather have my hands free to clap and make more noise than wave a towel. Clap and stomp. Rather it be deafening than just creating a breeze.

Towel Power is a tradition and it has also become a honour to the late great Roger Neilson. It gives fans a chance to show their support and it looks damn cool when 18630 fans are waving all at once. Its a far cry better than crappy thunder clappers that are used in Basketball and some hockey arenas (IMO).

I think you need to get over trying to cause a stir on this site.

For towel power to work:
Loud horns (Vancouver needs LOUDER!)
Everyone has one. (Clearly not the Ducks' nor Stars' had everyone with them)
And gotta be swung in the right physical motion. (Ducks' fans were waving them behind the net like they were little soccer scarves which has the team name on it.)

BELIEVE IN BLUE IS OUR NEXT OBJECTIVE.
Give everyone a towel and shirt and make ticket prices like $20 higher?
Ticks would still me sold out in 10 mins even if they were $900 for nosebleeds.

I just saw that Detroit couldn't sell out today's game against the sharks. WTF? Detroit? With all that history and that big a city behind them? It seems bizarre.

I think the moniker of "Hockey Town" is about to be stripped.

It needs a new home....

It is very hard to believe.. especially with Windsor being a major fan base at games.

Sharks aren't much of a draw I guess, but it's the playoffs for Pete's sake. A playoff sellout should be automatic, regardless of the competition..

I wonder how many empty seats there'd be for a Detroit/New Jersey final?

I don't live in Vancouver anymore but, how much are tickets to LA?

A motel would be around $20 per night, and the game for $30. Best I can find on Expedia is $505.

Roadtrip anyone  ?
