Out Of Town Scoreboard Watch

Post by supercanuck »

With the stretch drive here now, maybe some people would like to talk about some out of town scores.

Tonight (02/15/07):

Edmonton loses 2-1 in overtime to Buffalo. http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/gamecente ... 15_EDM@BUF

The other big game tonight has Calgary vs. Colorado. Never thought I'd say this but Go Avs Go!

Avs win 7-5. Sakic with #600 into the empty net.

These 2 teams now take a night off, and play again on HNIC. Then we get the Avs on Sunday (the 3rd in 4 nights for them, back to back & have to travel). Then back in Denver for another contest. Definitely Go Avs Go!!!(except Sunday, of course)

Congrats to Burnaby Joe. Calgary giving up 7 goals at home (and losing 2 two goal leads)!!!

When Calgary loses, I feel almost as happy as when the Canucks win! Well, not quite, but you get my drift.
Great loss Calgary!!!!!!!

It's great to see Sakic help his hometown team.

Sakic wearing # 91 in a nucks uniform? hmmmm

Edmonton is done....I think that the top 8 is set.
The only battle now is for positions in the top 8. I would love to see a Nashville/ Minnesota match up as I think Minnesota is the dark horse team this year. Also the Canucks/Dallas match up would be sweet for the Canucks.

It's not done yet, there's almost 30 games left to play!! One injury or streak can easily cover the six/eight point spread in no time. There's not really an easy matchup in this conference at all, the Preds, Ducks, Sharks and Wings are NOT good looking matchups at all. We know how tough the Flames and Wild have proven to be in the playoffs and even Dallas could light it up once they get healthy and if Turco sheds his choker label. It'd be nice to get the division and home ice though...

While I hear what you are saying about the 'anything can happen' ...the Canucks, Calgary & Minny are playing too well. Edmonton & Colorado have too much ground to make up. Teams get points every night. Remember the Canucks stumbling to the end last year...Edmonton looks like that IMO.
I agree with you again that all the teams are good in the conference but I think that Luongo could get into Calgary or Dallas goal scorers head. Like Kipper did to our Canucks....anyhoo...I can hardly wait for playoffs!!

Tonight (Feb. 17, 2007):

Edmonton at Toronto - Should I be cheering for the Leaves?

Minnesota at Nashville - Forsberg's 1st game

Colorado at Calgary part 2 - I hope they beat each other up!

Well cheering for the Leaves worked! Not back to despising them.

Unfortunately both Calgary and Nashville won!

Despising them will be much easier. I nearly gagged at one point in my cheering. But they did the job for us. Should have been cheering the stupid Avs too I guess.

Tonight (February 18, 2007):
Minnesota loses to St. Louis 5-3. :D

San Jose loses again 5-2 to Dallas. They are REALLY struggling right now. The Nucks are now only 3 points behind and only behind if they win tonight over Colorado with equal number of games played.! Could San Jose be that team that will fall out of playoff contention? (probably not)
