I'll watch. I always find atleast a few things entertaining.
The best had to be when the Mild fans were booing Bertuzzi ( this was before he smacked Moore) and Joe Sakic asked him " What did you do to these people?".

Im dissapointed most just by how they picked the teams.... if they take representatives from each team then they shouldnt call it an all star game. an all star game is suposed to have the best players and this year, its obvious thats not the case!
BELIEVE.

I haven't watched an allstar game for years ... just seems like a waste of 3 hours ... it is by no means any representation at all of the game of hockey.
I would imagine though that the best part about it, if I had to make a comment on it, would be the opportunity for the local fans to meet the players ...

I just don't get how Carolina gets TWO forward reps, and Jagr on pace for 100+ points is left off.
Anyways, I think the best idea for the fans would be to ice the defending cup champs against the best the rest of the league can muster. That would be an entertaining game. In fact that was the format from 1947-1968. I'm sure the GMs and owners would not go for it though.

That would make sense ... also shows the priority the all star game has with the players ... he obviously wants to rest so he is in better shape for his club team. Guys like Jagr have been there before and the thrill is gone ... money isn't even an issue for them either.Cookie La Rue wrote:I read somewhere Jagr was asked but standing down to rest his shoulder.Mantle wrote:I just don't get how ... So what is the All Star game for then ... players don't really care and the fans now seem to be completely turned off ... something has to change. Years ago I think it wasn't so much business ... players played for the honour and pride of it ... million dollar contracts now have changed things to a whole new way of thinking.
