Khabibulin is the elite goalie Roberto Luongo should be

Post by JamesOwnzSam11 »

But he isn't ( at least not at this point)

Really, the only goalie you can compare him to because of the contract ( same dollars, except Luongo has a no trade clause.)

Khabibulin had an awful first season with the Blackhawks, but has since returned to form and is really doing great...and looking at the D he has it's very impressive.

Seabrook and Keith- 2nd year players both very early 20s.

Jasen Cullimore ( He isn't good)

Aucoin is their number "1" D-man and he's injured a lot since his days as a Blackhawk.

Kukk is a rookie.

Everything else has been call ups of career minor leaguers.

Luongo has quality guys like Salo, Ohlund, Edler etc...

His numbers have been better than his play...I mean he has two shutouts sure...but against a minor league Chicago team...and the Blue Jackets, the worst offense in the league.

Youre really grasping here. Luongo is the reason and the only reason the canucks are even close to 500.

To think of it anyway else is retarded.

Oh boy, the goalie graveyard is rearing its ugly head a little prematurely I think. Clearly goal scoring is the major issue for the Canucks.
The truth may hurt...but it is still the Truth...Have a nice day :)

Certainly didn't see anyone lining up last year to take Khabibulin off the Hawks hands. And even now his stats are virtually identical to Luongo. Luongo had a very good start to the year a tough stretch but by and large the last 8-10 games he's been excellent again. A 1-0 victory, a 2-1 40 save victory etc. He's done his job. The fact is even if he only lets in 2 goals the team is still only maybe going to manage a point.

Luongo is the only reason the Canucks arent being blown out of the arena every night!! when he facs over 30 shots a night because our lackluster defence and still can keep it close.... thats talent. if the canucks were scoring more than 2 goals a game, we would be seeing different results in the standings

 I would trade the whole team before i traded Luongo
BELIEVE.

JUST WAIT THEY WILL SCORE!

Luongo might even have to score on an empty net one game to shut ppl up.

Well, we've been waiting for that for a long time, now. I'm not so confident that this will happen to degree where we'll make the playoffs.
