I'm a fan of Dhaliwal too. Curious though if he learned all his pausing and Uh's and Ah's on air from his time under the tutiledge under Gary Rable.
I phoned De Bron at the TEAM (that's the real De Bron on here) and he told me that Leyland was OK with me impersonating him. I am a member of the media - only Paul knows who I am. I gather you know a bunch of the guys.

What makes me laugh about Dave is that he's such a throwback to the 80's. I can just imagine him playing air guitar to a Loverboy or REO Speedwagon tune while blowdrying his hair and getting ready for a night out at Richards on Richards. He just cracks me up. I don't mind Bob M's show, but he does too much sports trivia. The big difference I find is that he and Dave have different philosophies. Dave is more into the 'entertainment' aspect (e.g. his porn birthday references) whereas Bob is more of a true-blue hardcore sports fan.

I enjoy both shows, but I don't like Pratt because I think he loses a ton of credibility since everyone now knows he doesn't attend a damn thing. Personally I think it's a sham to the audience when you talk about stuff, and you don't have the nerve to show up and face and get to know the athletes and coaches you're commenting about on a daily basis.

I like Bob M's show. The trivia doesn't bother me as much as the amount of football he shoves down my throat on a daily basis. I know the NHL isn't going on right now, but I do feel that he doesn't have full control of what his audience wants to talk about. He has some of the most intelligent guest from the NFL and CFL, but I get enough NFL football when both stations switch over to their American feeds. I don't need it on my drive home from a local guy.

Yeah, I know quite a few guys in the industry. I've drank at the Furniture Warehouse and the Loose Moose many a time with the sports guys! That's how I get my "Insider's Scoops"....LOL....That's me trying my journalist talk!

So Pratt, PM Me and gimme a hint on who you are! Maybe we've shared a beer on occasion.

It's kind of funny how the TEAM sees the Pratt and Taylor show (and that includes you too Mr.Producer De Bron). It's more 'sports entertainment' rather than sports. It's also a little more over the top than other sports show. I actually like it. Whether it's listening about where to meet women (apparently women's clothing stores are good according to Pratt and De Bron) or hearing parodies like 'When Homer met Sally' I'm OK with it because I get a few laughs in my car on the way home from work. I even don't mind Pratt as much, though he is pretty predictable. I'll tell you who I can't stand: Tony Gallagher. That guy is just a cancer when he is on the air. He has a face for radio and a voice that is so whiny and sniveling. At least Dave is more upbeat.

I'll PM you - maybe we have shared a beer.

Nobody. This town is so devoid of any quality sportscasters/journalists its a joke.

Dan Russell, Brooke Ward, Don Taylor, Dave Pratt The list goes on, and on. There all brutal.

Bob Marjanovich and McKeachie are bareable . Yes even Mckeachie!! At least he knows his stuff.

Pratt and Russell are a pathetic joke. They have become so full of themselves, they have lost all objectivity.

Where is Bernie Pascall when you need him. :?

I got tired of Dan Russell, as I think many did. Pratt is Pratt. At least his shows can be interesting. Too many TV guys doing radio.....where are the real radio guys?

The reason I watch all those is because no one show shows everything, and you might see a different interview on TSN than you would on Sportsnet. Or hear a longer soundbite somewhere else. Certainly not because of the personalities.

One guy that I always liked: Lee Powell. One more guy that should never have been allowed to enter the profession: that guy in Montreal for TSN Michael something or other. Just brutal.

Otherwise, like I said since Randorf, Taylor & Shorty were on the Page, things have gone downhill.

But talk to the Idiot, he'll tell you that guys like Steve Armitage have his utmost admiration for the great jobs they do. Which says just about all you need to know.

I think the Page has gone down hill too. I'm tired of the Squire Barnes television network. Sick of seeing that wrinkled little alien anchor every bloody sportscast.

As far as radio.....Maybe it's just me, but I'm partial to the WX sportscasts. Gary Rable and his crew always seem to be up to date. Plus they're the only live sportscasts throughout the day and night on weekends.

I'm not sick and tired of McRae's schtick yet. I find him entertaining especially when he's arrogant and pompus. But his show with Bro Jake is horrible. I heard threw a friend at Corus, that McRae's pulling down $1500 a show to get drunk at the Yaletown Brewing Pub. That's a lot of money for a guy who's good for only eight minutes at 8:15am.

Gotta love Dhaliwal at the Team. Leyland just rides the coat tales. MOJO's sportscasts are brutal. There's nothing worse than listening to a sportscaster get the simplist of names wrong.

As far as not enough radio guys getting a shot. I agree, you think it a person with a radio background could do a radio job better than a t.v. person. But I'm sure the P.D.'s who run these stations like the fact that T.V. people are more recognizable because the audience knows who's talking when they see them on the tube every day.

Yeah, okay, you sure you're not the Idiot himself? Sportspage now sucks in comparison to what it was. But that's a typical media type attitude. "We do great stuff - even if nobody likes it".

Dammit SR, he said it's better, and that damn well means it's better...

Who are you to question those who champion this noble cause while sitting perched a top a seat in the ivory tower of media coverage?

Curve your tongue maggot!

pick my nose sounds like a bitter wannabee sports reporter who probably waisted his money on broadcast school..then couldn't get a job..but the closest he came was getting an internship at WX for a week and loved Raible and Dhaliwal.

Best early sporstcast on TV Taylor on Sportsnet, no question.

Best 11:00 sports TSN...

Biggest joke of a station is The Score.

Worst radio stations for sports in this orders...CKWX, MOJO, NW, CISL, the Fox and The TEAM... :?:

Worst reporters in town Squire Barnes and Jay Janhower..FArhen Lalji is pretty bad too
