I don't mind our current roster on the Canucks ... its not the greatest obviously but there are some bright spots and strengths ... goaltending, Ohlund/Mitchell pairing, stronger play by the Sedins ...
... my concern, and it has been confirmed with Clams report, is that we don't have a lot of depth or young guys coming up showing any real promise to make the jump right away.
We all can see its going to be an absolute dogfight this year for the Nucks to make the playoffs and if we happen to run into any serious injury problems we may have to chalk the year up as "a missed playoff year".
Flipside though is it may provide an early opportunity for some of our youngsters to step up and show what they can do ... throw them in the fire, test their character and pull off a 'Cam Ward' ... !!!?? A comment on that statement... Have we ever in all Nucks history ever had a player who has stepped up out of nowhere and done that for us? Certainly we have had our share of "disappointments" in high draft picks etc. over the last 30 years.
