Canucks.com has some shots of Luongo's new mask. What do you think?

Meh... Nothing too special. I'm not a huge fan of the colour scheme, and the skyline looks nothing like Vancouver. Not that it's a bad looking mask, just not the best out there.

It's alright. Nothing spectacular but I like the color.

While I agree it's not the best out there, I like it. I like the grizzly smashing through the old style goalie mask as well as the Lions Gate Bridge on the back. (Not so wild about the panther tail... but... whatever). I agree with levelheaded that the skyline could have been more Vancouver-ish... I mean, Vancouver does have one of the more unique skylines out there.

Maybe he'll do better with ver.2 next year :)

I'm just glad it's not Dan Cloutier's mask we're looking at.

I have the same feelings about it. It's not spectacular, but it's not bad either. How about we list the top 5 modern goalie masks in the NHL?

in no particular order:
1. Mike Richter's NYR
2. Curtis Joseph's CuJo
3. Kirk McLean's Vancouver
4. Manny Fernandez's Minnesota
5. Ed Belfour's Eagle

It's a bit too busy (too much going on; lacks focus). The jury's out on the weird asymetrical position of the grizzly/hockeymask across the forehead ('cause, after all, the whole point is that that is the part you see when the camera first zooms in on the goalie at the beginning of a game). Yeah, the cityscape is lame and not Vancouver; but the mountains are. I like the bear drool :P

I appreciate the kind of spraycan style, and expect we'll see more of that on masks in the future; but that too could be done better.

Looks too Avalanchey for my liking. Why are the Canucks always portrayed as wearing this burgundy-ish color when last I checked, it was plain red?

Image

Isn't that red?

And you'd at least think the Harbour Centre would make it into the skyline...

Safest bet would be to do just mountains, I'd think. Or the view from Kits Beach.

I LOVE the mask!!! No Corporate orca LOGO crap ( Fake Pratt will love that), our under rated skyline, the cool panther story, a very individual look..a personal look...like no other Vancouver goalie..me likey...not the super cool Ken Dryden look that McLean had but still a classic look with the buildings all stacked together...Vancouver has really never had a goalie with this resume since Cesare Maniago...and I loved Cesare's look as well... when you have the swagger, the look will follow!

I really dont like it - the blue and maroon just do not go - i like how he kept a hint of the pink panther - i loved his Florida Pink Panther masks .. as for all time favourites:

Linky

Bouchards's mask is awesome on its own but the whole ensemble really works :D
