Baertschi seems a knock away from retirement.

And the only way to get three dangerous lines is to move Miller
and Ferland down (or some combination of current top 6) and that requires players who can go up the lineup and succeed at going up. I’m not talking great players, I am talking 20 goal 45 point guys.
Baertschi was not going to get 20 goals/45 points on the third line. That is solid second line production, with offensive opportunity through minutes, zone starts, and pp time. Just look at Tampa last year, probably the deepest offensive team in a decade. Other than Miller with top PP time, the second line forwards got 45ish points, not the 3rd liners.

If this team's second line gets 45-60 points, that is tremendous second line production.

Maybe my post was ambiguous, I was talking about the kind of guy when he gets that opportunity to move up to a second line. Baer is a 45 point guy with that opportunity, not as wishful thinking, but just doing what he does.

Though I also think Baer would still get second unit pp time even if on 3d line.

I agree 100%. However, prior to his return last session I believe he was producing at a 50+ point pace, but upon his last return he was a 40ish point player.

That's why I don't have a problem with letting him get his legs back in the AHL, provided the roster spot on the canucks is used to either pump the value of another player, or open a spot for Gaudette.

I still believe there was a decent shot of Loui refusing to report to Utica after having received his bonus and only collecting $1 mil in salary to ride the buses, but perhaps that's still a chance if he's demoted down the line. I'd suggest waiting until after apple season in upstate NY, once December rolls around that charming fall turns too gnarly winter and a guy like Loui will hopefully quit rather than ride the buses.

I believe it was in the Kuzma article on Bearchia, Benning was quoted as saying they still saw too much apprehension in Sven's game and he needs to work that out.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I have never seen so many people absolutely lose their shit over waiving a 3rd line, often injured tweener.
Who’s losing their shit here?
I think Micky had to wipe his back.
Why don't you make a concerted effort to stay the fuck off it for a spell.
No right to opine. sucks
Hey man I didn't say you don't have the right to lose your shit about something every other day...
Ha, shall we (A) days and (b) days?

Is my day to lose my shit? I need to check my contract 😎

Surprised that Gaudette isn't in the lineup tonight. I would have figured that Leivo was on the bench.

If we arsenal going with the 'beagle has better stats with Schaller' Schtick, I think Gaudette outplayed Leivo in preseason...

It’s how Travis Green rolls. He thinks lunchbucket will save the day

Probably just hedging his bets. With playoffs as the clear goal he'll probably choose the 'safe option' more often than not. And probably benchings for poor defensive play will also be on the rise.

Probably also has to do with consistency in the PP groups.
