Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Post by Madcombinepilot » Tue Jun 18, 2019 3:06 pm

We are entering the silly season, so I figured we might as well kick it off with the new thread for the year... (90 days until puck drops!)

Preseason Schedule:

*Monday, Sept. 16 vs Calgary
(Save on Foods Memorial Centre, Victoria)
*Monday, Sept. 16 at Calgary
-- Split squad --

Tuesday, Sept. 17 vs Edmonton

Thursday, Sept. 19 at Edmonton

Saturday, Sept. 21 at Los Angeles
(Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City)

Monday, Sept. 23 vs Ottawa
(Abbotsford Entertainment Centre)

Wednesday, Sept. 25 vs Ottawa

Thursday, Sept. 26 vs Arizona

Depth Chart: (not 100% accurate or including Utica contracts, and the order is arguable at that, but I think everyone is listed)

Baertschi--Pettersson---Boeser(RFA)
Pearson----Horvat-------Virtanen
Goldobin---Sutter--------Eriksson
Motte-------Beagle-------Rousell (IR)
Schaller----Grandlund---Spooner --> all 3 of these guys play center and wings
Gadovich---Gaudette----Lievo
Karlsson----MacEwen-----Lind
Palmu----------------------Jasek

Edler (UFA)---Tanev
Hutton--------Stetcher
Hughes--------Schenn
Joulevi--------Biega
Sautner-------Rafftery
Teves

Markstromm
Demko
DiPietro
Kielly
Bachman

Prospects in other leagues:
Lockwood (NCAA)
Madden (NCAA)
Woo (WHL)
Tryamkin (KHL)

All 2019 Draft picks plus 2 extra 6th round pick

**Pettersson nominated for Calder

GM Jim Benning on final year of contract

Canucks have 31/50 contract slots filled, 20 NHL contracts signed and about 30 million in cap space.
Edler is unsigned
Boeser needs a new contract
Luongo Retirement and cap recapture still in play

@FriedgeHNIC
There is word today that Edler’s availability for the expansion draft — at one point a major issue — has been resolved. That’s a big reason for the optimism and sense an extension is gaining steam

Dhaliwal reporting talks have gone well over the last 24 hours and the major issue(s) seem resolved.
The only HW the Canucks need

Looks like a deal should get done then. I can accept increasing AAV a bit as long as there is no protection from the expansion draft.

Is Rick Dollywall the new pipeline for breaking news? Or shit-talker Sekeres and his cronies?

Rick made doom and gloom then Rick made the sun poke it's head out; Fluke or strategic planning?

Maybe a little green for the flip-flop?

Mick, your speak is as white noise as Skyo’s trades. What we need from you is more calling out Blobs patented hyperbole

My wee post was witty and cool. Light and cheery. A breath of fresh air. A polite way of saying depress then enlighten.

Actually the 10:40 show was better than the 6:50 show this afternoon.

His .899 save percentage was the best of his career, but his 3.12 goals-against average was the highest since his rookie season in 1999-2000.

Speaking of wet spots..... how many times do you think the Dude has soaked his bed in piss after a bender? I’m not talking about like how he soaks the boards with piss crying about something Mike Gillis did 11 years ago either. Dude has a massive gut propped up on razor thin stringy legs and a bladder like a gerbil. He does ridiculous amounts of cocaine and drinks until he vomits several times a week. How often does Mrs Dude end up covered in urine while she is trying to have a regular sleep? I’d wager three or four times per week.
