I like Blob's version

...

You simply extend him at the $16M over 3 years.
If we did that we'd be forced to use a protection spot on him in the expansion draft...
So what. As of today they don’t have a decent d man worth protecting when you factor in age, talent and durability.
It's not about "today" you silly, silly fuck, try to see beyond the end of your broomstick.

It's about 2021.

Juolevi, Tree, Edler, Tanev, Guds, Hutton, Stech, Chatfield, Brisebois, and possibly Hughes will require protection.

Well not Edler if we don't sign him to your inane 3-year-NMC-deal, and not Guds/Tanev if we don't extend them.

We can only protect three, no offense but your 3-year-NMC-deal for Edler is one of the stupidest things ever suggested on this site.

Even worse, after said stupidity was pointed out, you continue in the same vein! Image

No need for a NMC and a two year deal will suffice, making him a UFA at the expansion draft, setting him up for a 35+ contract.

And you want to trade for another dee who would require protection lol...
Lol we gotsta protect Chatfield as the token black guy. Carry on a proud tradition from Claude Vilgrain, Robin Bawa, Donald Brashear, John Craighead...,

Worrying about wasting a protection spot on Edler is asinine when he’s one of the two competent d men the team has.

WOW... seriously, you've got to quit drinking Blob! :wow:

Whoa whoa whoa, no need to drag Skyo's good name into this.

While I had been prepared to cut Blob some slack, as he's not used to watching hockey this "late" in the season, but he's totally lost the plot.

But blob, we're all pulling for ya.

Cool story Casey..., or is it Finnegan?

I’ve often wondered if Doc lubes his arm when he jams it up your ass or do you take it dry?

Blob it isn't aboutasting a protection spot on Edler at all. Its about managing assets and contracts so you don't have to protect him and can protect someone else.
Wids in two years if Edler is still performing well and is still a top 2 or 3 d man on the team who cares if you have to use a protection spot on him? The first post I meant to say a full NTC. But even if it was an NMC who cares? Woo will not need to be protected, Chatfield... really? Tryamkin really? Tanev’s contract would be up and Dudbranson isn’t worth protecting. So Edler, Hughes and who? Olaf? Who knows if he ever makes the team? Lots of hand wringing about nothing. It’s reminiscent of all the posters terrified of losing Markus Granlund to Las Vegas.

This management can’t seem to bring in any talent on the blueline so maybe they should bring Edler back long term.

Baubles must not want to protect the young top flight d-man he's getting back in the Brock trade.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

You’re right Blob, who knows what two years will bring. Exactly the point. So manage those contracts wisely.
The only HW the Canucks need

For the record Doc can be an excellent poster when he actually talks hockey. Lately he seems to concerned with ad hominem attacks, derailing threads and straw man construction
Hopefully, by the cool light of day and after evacuating your Saturday-morning post-Keith's 15-pack squirts, you will turn your sensitivity down a couple notches.

We are talking about a guy who goes to bat in Defense of “stud” Hamonic and the massive hit to the Flames future assets in acquiring the bum.

Tweener McCann and Rasmus Asplund - game changers. Would the Islanders trade Noah Dobson straight up for those two let alone two 2nds? The Islanders are ROTF laughing their asses off - “Hell NO!”
"I just want to say one word to you. Just one word. Are you listening? - Plastics." - The Graduate
