Even though we had a poor pre-season, I think we'll do a little better than last season. We'll be pretty competitive most nites, but just miss the playoffs.

Re: Canuck predictions for 2018/19 season
The Ugly: Canucks will be hard pressed to score 160 goals and will give up 260 in return. They will finish in 30th place.
The Bad: Neither Sutter nor Louie will score 20 goals even though they are foundational pieces. Brendan Leipsic will be to Travis Green what Linden Vey was to Desjardins and Gary Lupul was to Harry Neale. Nikolay Goldobin will score 14 goals which will be more than Leipsic scores but plays fewer games than Leipsic. Jake Virtanen will continue to be less Cam Neely and more Jim Sandlak. Both Ben Hutton and Derek Pouliot will continue to be equally as bad but Pouliot will play more games. Because Portland (see Leipsic). Goaltending will continue to be mediocre to poor.
The Good: We will see Adam Gaudette in March because Sutter will have been traded. Hopefully Uncle Daryl will be back in the NHL and Vancouver gets a reasonably high draft pick because although Forrest Gump Sutter has won 2 Stanley Cups as coach, he is also heavily into nepotism. Granlund will be traded for a late round draft pick as will Hutton because under WD he looked to have potential to develop into a D-man while Pouliot never has and isn't worth anything. We will not see Juolevi after Hutton is traded because he needs to spend the whole season in the AHL, we will see Sautner instead. Del Zotto will also get traded for a high 4th rounder or low 3rd rounder. One of Gubransen or Stecher will finally develop into a legitimate NHL defence man, most likely the smallest player on the team and not the biggest because this is the Canucks. Pettersen will score 16 goals and 40 points. If he stays healthy Horvat will lead the Canucks with 20+ goals and 60 points. Boeser will score 26-27 goals. Everyone gets fired at season's end. Canucks will drop only one spot in the lottery draft. That, my fellow Canucks fans is considered a win.
Epilogue: Skyo will continue to shill for trading Tanev for his latest wet dream of a young, inexperienced D-man and propose we get an older D-man on the downhill slide who makes twice as much as Tanev to mentor. Then at season's end he will propose to sign Jannik Hansen so the Canucks then can trade Hansen to Winnipeg for "a draft pick."

This road trip should be a good indicator of where this young team is at, exciting times regardless. #NewERA

Lots of people wrong in this thread.
Whats interesting is how tapered expectations were compared to having all these kids hitting their stride at once.
Time shave the old taste buds blob and switch teams my man. Bennings handy work is looking better by the game.

Re: Canuck predictions for 2018/19 season
No doubt but the development of the prospects has taken an unforseen exponential leap.

Re: Canuck predictions for 2018/19 season
Recently heard the stat that 88% of the teams that are in the playoffs at American Thanksgiving make it to the dance. Not sure of the validity of that number, but still it seems like a high percent.
Canucks are in first place this morning in the Pacific. If they go 500 the rest of this road trip, they should be sitting inside that 88 percentile on November 22nd.
Looking good that my prediction of making the playoff this year will be accurate. Kind off hurts all this patting myself on the back, but in a good way.

Re: Canuck predictions for 2018/19 season
No one predicted this and actually meant it.
I am over the moon with their success to date but the product on the ice does not relate to their standings. Some said making the playoffs could happen but is that a good thing? Or is getting another top 10 pick the better long term option.
