Re: What grade do you give JB for the 2018 draft
Just look no further than how what Benning has been able to do outside the lottery zone and in the later rounds and how well elite teams such as Pittsburgh, Tampa and Anaheim have done at the draft further cements in that there is is simply no excuses for Gillis 6 years of putrid drafting that had us having the leagues worst prospect pool when Benning started his job. You cannot recover from that quickly from that but only slowly and painfully. Hands down one of the worst GMs this team has seen in its entire history. He walked can into a cushy situation thanks to the fine young core left for him by the previous GMs only to leave it an absolute disaster for the next GM
No excuses, absolutely no excuses
He should be tarred and feathered.
He will never work in the NHL again as a GM or a President

None of these guys have played in the league yet except for Tryamkin and he hated it here.

The 6 years of Gillis Drafting Legacy
Horvat - was a trade, having to give up premier elite young goalie and former 1st round pick - Schneider
Gaunce
Connauton
Hutton
That’s it folks! Cassels was Gillis hope of a 5th player he drafted that had a chance of putting an NHL career together. Nope
Look at that group above folks. 6 years of drafting. An absolute tire fire left for Benning to douse!

As i sat on my porch this morning reflecting and smoking a very fine sativa for wake and bake, something occured to me. Being an avid birdwatcher i cant help but to notice that the smaller birds are always tougher than the bigger ones. How many times have you seen a big bird flying for its life with a little shit bird hot on its tail feathers biting and screaming at it? Well its lots for me anyway....
Which brings me to my point. The canucks are going for that little shitbbird mentality hoping for a tough little fucker to rip out the tail feathers of the bigger bird.
Ya. So thats my baked morning thought of the morning

You’re watching the wrong birds is your problem.
You should watch falcons eat pigeons.
It’s the fight in the bird, not the bird in the fight.
Woof.

Pigeons are wimps and theyre not small. Theyre just fat park chickens. Theyre the kyle wellwoods of the bird world
Watch a sparrow chase a bald eagle all over the place. Or a swallow dive bomb the magpies...

If that's the plan, Wes Rypien should be on the coaching staff.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 7:55 am Which brings me to my point. The canucks are going for that little shitbbird mentality hoping for a tough little fucker to rip out the tail feathers of the bigger bird.

So basically asshole birds are preferred regardless of species.
I think we've been saying that for years.
More assholes is better regardless of size.
I've seen some stupid sparrows that fly into my front window, not all sparrows are assholes.
As well, most pigeons are fresh meat to be slaughtered.
But on occasion you get a pigeon that will shit all over you if he gets a chance.
Those are the kind of pigeons that we want on the Canucks.

I guess we're all birds of a feather then.
Regardless of actual size, there are lots of flocking assholes here at CC
I like that about this place
UDL, more baked morning thoughts please!

Wow - this has to be one of best slight train derailment of a thread in a long time, I had tears in my eye laughing.
Can you imagine the question posed by a reporter.
Mr. Benning,
In the wild there are big birds and small birds. Based upon our observation small birds are more aggressive and will defend their nest. They have been seen to use their speed and maneuverability to have a wave after wave of attacks on bigger birds. Some bigger birds are slow and just end up being meat of smaller birds. Now both big birds and small birds are not always overly bright, thus they fly into windows and other such objects, also some big birds comes for the party and leaves a mess for others to clean. Mind you, get a falcon or an eagle and they are big and mean mother fruckers.
So Mr. Benning, what type of bird are you looking for?

There should be a poll for rating Elmer’s performance during the free agency period. For instance last year he picked up a decent player in Del Zotto on a reasonable contract but then whiffed on Gagner, Weirdcrotch, and the Russian kid. 1/4 so I’d give him a D+ maybe a C-. The previous year though he gets a well deserved F for bringing that parasite Eriksson on board.
