Quitting is for losers RD.
Edler-Karlsson
Hughes-Tanev
You get that top 4 D - that's entering Nashville Predator defense there - then the rest of the D...
(who cares) but it'll be a mishmash of OJ, Guds, Woo, Utonen, Chatfield, maybe Brisebois and Tryamkin.
Hutton, Stecher dealt for picks to keep the prospect cupboards full for the down the road.
Grabbing that top 4 next season would be incredible IF Hughes is ready. If he’s not the it’s not as good, but still something to look at having the following season.
As for payroll and cap.....
Hutton would become trade bait.
Losing overpaid bloat like Sutter, Eriksson, Schaller, Roussel, and, with that top 4, ultimately Gudbranson and Stecher, will make some cap room.
Then hoping that Juolevi and Woo develop into legit top-4’s and that a couple of the others, like Brisebois, manage to become reliable 5/6/7 guys.....
Then maybe in 3 years we have...
Hughes - Woo
Juolevi - Karlsson
Brisebois - Tryamkin/Utonen
Just spitballing.
I would still like to see us find a a couple of “heavyweights” on the back end. One for the top-4 and another for the 5-7 spots. The game is changing to speed and skill, but it’s done that before, and last time it made an abrupt shift back to ground and pound right when we were the team with best balance of speed and skill but up against the ground and pound specialists from Beantown for 7 games one preferably forgotten spring.....just saying that you always need an answer.
