Yeah, gotta give Greener some props. He's showing that he doesn't have favourites and is willing to give guys a chance to prove themselves. Last season, Pooalot and Hutty were his whipping boyz at times, he challenged them to come to camp in great shape and compete, they have and they're playing TONS of minutes. Del Zotto was one of Greener's key guys last year, but with other guys playing well, Del Zots was a healthy scratch for a good number of games. Greener did not hesitate to cut veteran Samwise from the team; although I'm sure JB and more so the Aqaus would not have been happy. Right now, we not missing Gagner at all. Green has worked with Shot-gun Jake from Utica to last season, getting his fitness lvl and defensive awareness up and it looks like it's starting pay off. Lastly, Greener was clearly not happy with Nilsson last season and Marky Mark was his guy. Nilsson had a hot start, so Greener went with him b4 the injury.Diehard1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 9:27 pm Good on Green for adapting to the players he has, playing a much more offensive style and taking advantage of his good forwards while sheltering his crappy D. I’m not sure you can win in the long run scoring 6 and giving up 5 a game, but it sure is great to watch.
Basically, everyone gets a clean slate. If they show commitment to fight for a spot and play well, they'll get a chance. Greener is getting a lot out of his players and getting them to buy into his program. If the teams stays the course and plays like this most of the season, he should get serious coach of the year consideration.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

And then there is Topper, whose goal in life is to get along with himself. wow, out with some friends earlier and 'Stairway to heaven' comes on over the airwaves and this wonderful younger gal says 'who is this?' I was stunned at first - WTF? Doesn't know Stairway to heaven?? Anyways, this could probably be a title of a new thread for a number of us as we get older - `songs we loved along the way', or 'why am i a canuck freak?'
On an aside, I would like to say to all my bothers (and Widow) here at CC,
(yeah sorry to be toking and forgetting what to say re: how much I appreciate all of YOU... cause i do, appreciate all of you!')

lol Diehard, if they keep scoring 6 and giving up 5 they will go unbeaten for the rest of the yearDiehard1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 9:27 pm Some entertaining hockey being played - I for one am really enjoying it, and it’s most unexpected. Still have my doubts it will stay this way the rest of the year but I’m enjoying it while it lasts and hoping it does.

This team is slowly making a believer out of me, and it’s most welcome after the past 5 or so years of crap we’ve had to endure.

A very wordy medical explanation of, apparently, what Brock Boeser has been diagnosed with.
