Look at the drop-off this year, but in particular, the drop in penalty minutes.
This is not over. Will it be if Goldobin gets the boot?
Ya, it shouldn't matter, but it does because if nothing else, he should be worth something. That being said;
Does the guy want an NHL career, anywhere?
He should be able to join us next year just before the playoffs
Awesome !!

Since we have a break; My son and I had a blast today going through this history of Canuck trades.
Memories. And then some...

Yikes # 44 was the low minute d man in an important game against the Sharks. He got half the ice time that Stecher did.

Asplund, McCann

TRANSACTION: #Canucks recall F Ryan Spooner.
9:55 AM - 18 Feb 2019

No surprise there.

He was already here anyways and is wearing #15 in practice today.

It's too bad there are so many injuries because this is a rare opportunity to practice three days.
Still; A test to see what the coaching staff can do or improve on...

No shocked kitty.
Reasonable move if you look at the Canucks depth on the left side.
Might as well try him there instead of Granlund, Eriksson, or Goldobin.

These are the actual lines at practice today:

Goldobin-Horvat-Leivo/MacEwen
Spooner-Pettersson-Boeser
Roussel-Gaudette-Granlund
Eriksson-Beagle-Motte

Schaller

Hutton-Stecher
Brisebois-Gudbranson>>>>>>>>>>UPDATE : TRANSACTION: #Canucks reassign D Guillaume Brisebois to @UticaComets. 1:25pm.
Pouliot-Biega

Schenn

It's just reporting the stuff their trying. They have three days to work out the chemistry.
Big test for the coaching staff.

More
Coach Green injury update:

Why not? Spooner couldn't do less for the club in Vancouver than Gagner was doing for the club playing for the Marlies.

I have to admit that it would quite tickle me if Spooner took off playing with Pettersson while Edmonton flails away with Gagner.

Would be something to laugh about for sure, and I'm certain that it would have the Oiler faithful up in arms slinging shit at their management again, but really this trade is a nothing move for both teams. Spooner played his way out of the NHL while in Edmonton, no doubt partially a victim of the system and overall problems in Dedmonton, but Gagner did the same here. If either player finds a spark that reignites their NHL careers there will be nothing about that to paint their former team with any kind of stupidity in regards to the trade.

No surprise Brisbois sent down. But that leaves Hutton and Pouliot on the left. Gudbranson, Stetcher, Biega and Schenn are righties. Does that put Schenn on the left?

ZMac looks to be the odd man out right now. And Schaller of course.

Seriously wondering what they're going to do with Goldobin.
Are his point because he's had the opportunity to play with the best on the team?
Ya, I think maybe so. He is crafty and "at times", a good playmaker.
The shit defensive play and "Who the hell was that pass for" stuff is most likely never going away.
Not even with 10 years of good coaching.
But the TD is almost here; I wonder if he'll be after it?

Dahlen will replace Goldobin's skill set next year. If Benning can pull a Calgary and get a second for him.....
