The best idea for him would not be popular with the fans.
Be a hell of a way to end the season though.

Nash is going to want to get paid. He’s a clone of Brandon Sutter. Would rather have Beagle or Brodziak as they play with a bit of jam. They would probably sign cheaper and for shorter term too.

I don’t think Vancouver looks at Petterson as a centre yet. That leaves Gaudette as a young centre.
Nash will probably want to cash in north of Brad Richardson for close to $3 mil per season. If JB Elmer were to sign him for that which is an overpayment (most UFAs are overpaid) then he could move Sutter at the trade deadline for the extra draft picks you want for the 2019 entry draft. Plus it would save the Canucks $1.3 mil. As long as there is none of the no trade clauses in Nash's contract, I'd be fine with that. Then move Nash the following season if JB Elmer is still here (or whomever is his replacement).
I believe JB Elmer will also go after Antoine Roussel as a Dorset replacement. Which might be OK if they added Reaves as well.

Guys, this is "Canucks News 2018-2019", not "Circle Jerk 2018-2019"

Please take this shit to another thread , like the All Things Leaves thread, or some other equally useless place.

Back on topic - this article has a few interesting tidbits: https://www.nucksmisconduct.com/2018/6/ ... o-and-more If Dhaliwal is correct, sounds like Pouliot talks are progressing notwithstanding the absence of a qualifying offer.

Vincibility lies in the enemy.

Yeah, Canucks just wanted to ensure he is paid as the #7/8 dman he is.

And they're willing to risk losing him because.... #7/8 dman.

If they lose him maybe they hang onto likely-to-be-traded Hutton?

Pouliott signs for one year at 1.1 million. Better than Granlunds deal

Granlund just had a 19 goals season in 2016/17. BTW, not sure how you can compare a forward to a defenseman?

He played 20 minutes a game and played a lot with the twins and got a whack of pp time. I’m sure a lot of guys could put up those numbers (and substantially better) that type of deployment.

What’s the excuse for the other seasons he’s appeared in NHL games?

I am happy they kept him. He was one of the better dmen for us in our own end last season. I'd put him at 3/4 with MDZ for us
