WC 2018

Post by Hockey Widow »

Canada loses to USA, 5-4 in a SO. We will be challenged this year to medal even with McJesus on our team. Bo may have to be the saviour but playing on the 4th line will be one hell of a resurrection.

Up next, Pettersson centring the top line.
The only HW the Canucks need

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Backlund will be centering, but good for Eli.

Yes, looks like Elias is on the right side. Playing with Backlund and Nyqvist is a great opportunity for him.

Nyqvist's comment on Elias:

@PatrikPetrin

Elias Pettersson will be on Sweden's top line at the World Championships that starts tomorrow morning,he will be on a line with Mikael Backlund and Gustav Nyqvist!Nyqvist said in an interview today to just give the puck to Pettersson and he will make things happen.

Had to bold it for the naysayers saying they want Pettersson buried in the farm?? hell naw bro - Canucks from the beginning....and man these young guns need a QB to feed them the puck next season.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Not the first time, won't be the last!

Can't wait to see Elias in a Canucks jersey next season. Honestly, the youthful injection could be a great thing for a couple of our vets - thinking Eriksson in particular.

Another wee tidbit mentioned to me by the great BoS, Elias took on Mika Zibanejad in a hardest shot competition the other day at practice. Elias lost but hit 157 km/h (97.5 mph) :wow:

Imagine when he puts another 15-20 lbs behind that!

Anders Nilsson is ripping it up in the worlds, he also had a good run in the 2015 KHL playoffs with a 1.54gaa, 0.935% in 20 KHL playoff games, maybe he's just a playoff type goalie and meh in the regular season. :?:

Unfortunately, the Canucks will have a hard time making the playoffs if Nilsson does not play well enough in the regular season...

Keep on ripping it up Anders. Hopefully some NHL teams are taking notice of his performance.

The Jets have depth everywhere. A well rounded team

Would love to see The Jets and Capitals in the finals. Just for something different

Seriously No to Vegas. Tampa been there done that. Same goes for Nashville
