6/8 in picking winners, missed on Vegas and WashingtonESQ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 10:33 am Eastern Conference
Tampa Bay vs. New Jersey – Tampa in 4. NJ barely snuck in, Tampa will overwhelm.
Boston vs. Toronto - Boston in 5. Toronto is 10-8 since the end of Feb, and ended the season playing .500 hockey with Matthews back. Boston's getting healthy, so night-night Leaves.
Washington vs. Columbus – Columbus in 5. Same old story.
Pittsburgh vs, Philadelphia – Pittsburgh in 6. Bad blood will extend the series, but Pitt will win.
Western Conference
Nashville vs. Colorado – Nashville in 7. Mackinnon will be the best player in the first round.
Las Vegas vs Los Angeles – LA in 5. Like 2012, they're going to surprise everyone.
Winnipeg vs. Minnesota – Winnipeg in 7. They'll get the franchise's first series win, but it won't be easy.
San Jose vs. Anaheim – Sharks in 6. They'll extend it to let Jumbo Joe come back for his swan song.
Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
I was spotty in calling the amount of games, but 7/8 ain't too shabby. Anaheim surprised me how dramatically they collapsed in that series.

Didn't make any predictions here but filled out my bracket on NHL.com. Sitting tied for 2nd OA after the first round!

Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
I was 5/8. Number of games is pretty tough to hit

Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
I'm surprised as hell I went 8/8 in that bracket and I only got the swept series wrong.
I rarely do well at those things!
Second round they don't ask for number of games.

Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
Well, 7 of 8 and correct on # of games for 3 series for myself, but it was a very predictable and boring first round compared with previous years.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 6:47 am Preds in 5

However, without the usual upsets and lengthy series, teams will still be somewhat fresh for the second round when the match-ups are more even. It should make for some good hockey.
AP I like your picks AP, except I think Vegas makes it to the Conference Finals.
Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
6 of 8 - with the games guessed in 3 of them. Much better than my hockey pool this year...

Re: Pick Your Winners. First round.
I too surprised myself with an 8/8 performance. Looks like a lot of us did well in the first round.
Haven't seen a separate prediction for second round so just going to start it here. Finding it way tougher for this round already. Hopefully that means tighter series as the first round was a little underwhelming.
