Current odds, but even the website isn't sure of the 'exact' odds.

Yeah I look at the lotto as the best/worst case scenario - finish dead last in the league and the worse that can happen is the 4th overall pick. Staying in the top 4 is key with this crop. I consider winning the lottery - a miracle or pure luck.
finally you joined tank nation.

Why do people here write worse when they mean worst and worst when they mean worse? :hmmm:
It's very confusing.

The English language is confusing at the best of times as it breaks it's own rules for it's own convenience.
I think Canada is the biggest free-for-all of the bunch. ;)

Canadian English teachers often avoid teaching grammar because they find the subject uninteresting and the students more difficult to engage.

In some social circles, concern for grammar is considered snobbish, and on the loonier end of the far left, elitist and exclusionary.

I appreciate all efforts to keep the tool of English sharp.

Not sure what post you're referring to, but if it was the quote in the post before yours, "worst" was the proper word to use in both instances in which it appears.

True. But it should also have been used instead of worse in "the worse that can happen".

It's something I have seen very often though, and it goes both ways. Sometimes it's worse when it should be worst, and sometimes the other way around. I never see people confusing better with best, so it's confusing. It's probably because they sound very much alike. But still.

I'm thinking Per doesn't spend much time on other 'English' language sites, because this forum is usually pretty good for grammar and spelling. Of course there are a few notable exceptions (Hi Todd!), but on the whole it's fairly readable.

I'm glad you didn't mention that other guy because I think he's developing a persecution complex.

Writing worst when it should be worse is almost the worst, but writing worse when it should be worst is worse.
