Eventually I guess. I'd still bootfuck Icehead and he got diddled by his hockey coach.

Anyways I'd say the first player traded will be Edler but that won't be till after the season, so we can see what everyone can do and hopefully build up trade value.

A month or two into the regular season and I suspect a few teams will realize their defense is not good enough
and that will increase the value of a Hutton or a Tanev and so on.

Stecher will start here, it's a no brainer - dude got skills.

...in a Canuck sea of smaller skilled forwards, Ben Hutton is a blue chip trading piece to land the team a young power forward this team desperately needs.

Defense not too bad after losing Hutton.

EDLER -- STECHER
MDZ -- TANEV
JUOLEVI -- GUDBRANSON
WIERCIOCH, BIEGA, HOLM

I'd like to see Benning add a guy like this. I don't know if I'd deal Hutton so quickly. I like the Hutt's size and skillset and he still could get better. Anyway, I wouldn't be against this move but it's a gamble for both sides.

I also kicked around a Tanev to Minny deal. Tanev straight up for a package of players - something like a Greenway and Erikkson Ek + type package.

Blob Mckenzie wrote:Ben Hutton does not get you Josh Anderson. Furthermore Juolevi is at least a season away unless Elmer and company rush yet another greenhorn onto the team for no other reason than to justify the draft pick. Let him develop further and hopefully become more of an offensive player next year.

Ben Hutton has skills no doubt, dmen are worth more than forwards generally as they are hard to attain especially when they are just entering their prime years still on a cheap contract and is 6'2+ all of which Hutton is.

Plus Hutton has wheels for a big fella, a good motor anyways.

And imo should be a solid point producer, just needs that one healthy season and confidence from coach Green.

So yeah it'll be good if we keep Hutty for now, build that value up even further, and if he plays with Tanev they should have a terrific season.

I still have a faint hope that we can move Edler out to continue on the rebuild.

Skyo, don't misunderstand. Believe me, I know the dude has skills. No body knows it more than I. As you should know by now, I'm one of his biggest supporters.
I explained it in my post, which you cut up. Don't do that. I hate that.
I've tried not to pick so many fights lately and be more of a team guy.
I'm trying to understand and respect everyone's point of view, even if I think it's fucking retarded.
I have my limitations though, OK?
Actually, I sense a few people are on a pretty tight rope right now.

That's good micky, glad we understand each other on the importance of Hutton and his potential to be a top 4 LD point producer.

Was talking about Stecher.
But at the end of the day, you just don't want either of them in the press box. They need to play.
Hutton has an NHL contract, Stecher is on a 2-way which pays him 75k in the minors.
But like I said, it would be temporary and that is only if Juoly makes the team.

The kid is a center and vancouver has at least 3 in front of him. He would be looking at the 4th line slot...
The rags just traded their #1 and will be able to offer more ice time.

I guess it comes down to how bad he wants to rock the stinky whale

Hey Mick, Capfriendly doesn't have Stecher as waivers-exempt. I think because of his age (23), he lost waiver-exemption after playing 60 NHL games (last season he played 71). So I don't think sending him down is an option, he would for sure get grabbed on the wire.

I'm most excited to see what Hutton does this season. He worked through his sophomore slump, and wound up putting together a decent season considering how brutal the start was.

I wonder if trading him now might be selling low, whereas trading Stecher now could be selling high after a very solid rookie season and while he's stll on a cheap ELC.

I wouldn't advocate for trading either though, unless the return was significant.
