Hutton has an NHL contract, Stecher is on a 2-way which pays him 75k in the minors.
But like I said, it would be temporary and that is only if Juoly makes the team.
Hey Mick, Capfriendly doesn't have Stecher as waivers-exempt. I think because of his age (23), he lost waiver-exemption after playing 60 NHL games (last season he played 71). So I don't think sending him down is an option, he would for sure get grabbed on the wire.
I'm most excited to see what Hutton does this season. He worked through his sophomore slump, and wound up putting together a decent season considering how brutal the start was.
I wonder if trading him now might be selling low, whereas trading Stecher now could be selling high after a very solid rookie season and while he's stll on a cheap ELC.
I wouldn't advocate for trading either though, unless the return was significant.
