Also... I posted all this and more about the Eriksson contract on the very day it was signed.

Kudos dammit... I WANT KUDOS!!

Canucks trade bait after their season is done.

Forwards: Baertschi, Gagner, Granlund, Goldy, Gaunce.

Dmen: Edler, Tanev, MDZ, Hutton.

Goalie: Nilsson.

Eriksson avail after July 1st once his big player bonus is paid & his salary is only $1M.

Team goals:
- Picks/prospects & maybe move up in the draft if they acquire more picks.
- Big gritty winger.
- QB dman.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

From some of  's comments, I had the impression that they wanted to see what Hutton could do after an off-season with a better commitment to fitness.

At the very least, let him make whatever gains he can, and sell high[er].

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if Mr Hutton is some kind of party animal.

Going full rebuild next season if Sedins retire.
I’ll allow Skyo to trade, buyout, waive and drive to the airport Gaunce, Granlund, Goldilocks, Boucher, Eriksson, Gagner, and MDZ.

Leaving my team as:

Reeves Petterson Boeser
Baertschi Horvat Dahlen
Leipsic Gaudette Virtanen
Archibald Sutter Lind
Motte

Tanev Juolevi
Gudbranson Hutton
Stecher Edler
Biega Pouliot

You also have my permission to trade Tanev after you draft Dahlin, but not before.
And you can move out either Hutton or Edler (one not both) if you can convince Tryamkin to get his gigantic ass back here where it belongs.
We are all Snidely Whiplash.

Reaves on the top line. Nice.

That lineup, especially the blueline, puts us in a good lottery positin again.

But hey, try to focus on 2-3 years from now.....amirite Doc? :P

LOL, the Canucks have been rebuilding since Genius Jim got here.

Yet some won't realize it unless the team goes all out Oiler.

Genius Jim couldn't spell rebuild until 2017.

Not sure how much of this kind of talk is parroting the media or is your own opinion?

For me, rebuilding or retooling is mischaracterizing what the debate is really about...

Which is what type of team do you want to ice while rebuilding/retooling? The Benning approach or the Oilers approach?

I think that is the debate worth having and for me it's been an obvious approach to rebuilding the team and the approach that I agree with...

The other debate should be how long should it take to rebuild the team? Some like Shane Malloy saw it as a 7 to 10 year process while others expect a much shorter time table, I call those the XBox fans...

We are nearing the end of Bennings 4th year and if Benning can nail another draft I think even many of the negative fans will get on board...

Take care....

Which type of team do we want on the ice while rebuilding? Are you serious?

We are on pace for our 3rd straight bottom 5 finish. With 7 of our next 8 games on the road, it is not unrealistic that Arizona, Buffalo, and Ottawa, all catch us and we finish dead last. How is the on ice product any different than what Edmonton has had? The only difference is that our odds of actually drafting in the top 3 are absolute shit by comparison to what Edmonton had over the past decade plus.

Focusing on wins and losses and where the team ends in the standings is not what a rebuilding team does...That's what a fan does when they say they want to tear it down but can't stomach the product it produces...

If you want to argue that the kids on the team will develop at the same rate regardless of which approach the team takes then lets have that debate but all of this whining and moaning and complaining over the word they use to describe it is silly...

Take care...

I’ve been an advocate of a rebuild since we went out in 4 to the Sharks in 2013. The writing was on the wall.

The Oilers has some vets at various positions during their decade long rebuild. They had crappy goaltending and a piss poor blueline. Sound familiar?

The only real difference is that the Coilers rushes their kids way too fast.
