was eerily similar to Mason Raymond
yeah, because bouncing off Clutterbuck on a clean check attempt is like getting driven head down and first into the boards with a goon on your back...

No, you've missed his point about Raymond. He's not comparing how the injury occurred or they types of players. He's commenting on the Canucks handling of this on ice. Both players should have been stabilized on the ice and stretchered off as a precaution. Neither was. Both ended up have a fracture.

Having both players walk off is very minor league.

Bingo

Initially I thought it was small of the back into the edge of the door opening. Slow-mo replay showed he had twisted and hit more oblique. There was on on ice examination of BROCKEY_HOCKEY before moving him. Maybe he'll return with Darcy Rota eyes.

Too bad for the kid. He had a legit shot at 35 goals. I hope the Canucks do him a solid and pay the bonus for 30 goals if he can’t come back this year.

I hope Virtanen and Goldy get a real shot here. Hopefully Green loosens the reins and lets the kids play.

Armchair to ten GMs become armchair orthopedic surgeons. Must have stayed in a Holiday Inn last night.

Yes, perhaps he's becoming a disciple of MS (Moronic Svengali).

Yep, will be at the game tomorrow night and was hoping to watch Brock again. He’s a very smart player and almost worth the price of admission by himself. He showed a lot this season and I think he’s shown us all we have a legitimate 30 goal winger on the team for the foreseeable future.

Virtanen looked very good last game - with the extra time it would be great to see him turn it on for the remainder of the season. He seems to be all about confidence and it’s high right now.

Goldy seems to be the same, except his confidence is low at the moment. I have no idea what he’s going to turn into but echo your thoughts that I’d love to see him run out there a ton in these last few meaningless games.

Give a Green some credit, he seems to be playing the kids more since the deadline, and it makes the games so much more watchable. Next year will be very interesting because we certainly have quantityof players, it’s the quality that needs work. With a bunch of young kids hopefully pushing for jobs Benning will have some decisions to make this summer.

Under the CBA I don’t think they can pay him his bonus Blob. His best hope is that he garners top three in rookie votes.

Nah shut him down, it'll help the Canucks' negotiating power when his contract is up after next season :P
I was going to post earlier that this injury might help Canucks' negotiating power (they could extend him this off-season)

... but I didn't want people to think I'm some kind of asshole.
We already think that :D

But, from one asshole to another, I think we should extend him sooner rather than later too.

I wouldn't mind seeing Leipsic get a couple games with the twins. We know they are coming back next year, and he hasn't that forechecking puck retrieval play style like a young Burrows's did. He also seems to think the game fast enough, and can backcheck when 'Sedin speed' gets exposed on a turnover.

.. and no, this isn't 'twin revival' post, it's a 'make the most with what we have' post.

If Leipsic plays with the twins, then Boesser and Virtanen potentially play with Bo next year.. looks good (at least better) on paper.

All I can say about this year, is it is too bad that mgmt is a total screwup and can't figure out to do a proper rebuild. If only they could learn to do it like the Oilers, all will be okay!
