Reef posts from the heart. Spontaneously, without bias.
Valuable asset to any team in my opinion. 8-)

#Canucks place Anton Rodin on unconditional waivers for the purpose of being released from his contract.

"Anton asked to be released from his contract," said Benning. "We value the skill and depth he adds to our team but ultimately it was important to respect Anton's request to move on."
Doc: "BTW, Donny was right, you're smug."

That's a shame. Thought he could have been a "diamond in the rough" kind of story. I feel bad for him because he did what he could to chase the NHL dream and things just didn't align. If he's tapping the mat in Utica, best for Benning to let him go.

Best of luck to him in the SEL.

Now for more of Smegma and Chapoo taking up roster spots in Utica....

I feel sorry for Rodin. Unfortunately, both luck and timing are not on his side. If Rodin was 100% or closed to 100% last season, he would definitely have made the Canucks and we did not have to suffer watching Megna and Chaput... Good luck to Rodin!!

Gotta think they want to get Weirioch playing. He has been sitting for awhile now. With Rodin leaving that helps clear a vet spot in Utica.

Too bad for Rodin. A fluke injury at the worst possible time destroyed any chance he had of making an NHL impact. But I won't miss what we never had, just feel bad for the guy. Hope he can still play in the SEL.

The exact opposite, I am one of the few people looking at it long term and with a clear mind. I do not get hypnotized by bright lights and ghetto scenes.

I am waiting to see what transpired but for anyone to say Benning is a genius at this point in time is the one on drugs. I have hope and like what I see but time is still ticking into the future.

Sigh, yes it’s been a long week.

2016-17 - 8/10/2 for 18pts
2017-18 - 9/8/3 for 21pts

Wow!
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

With Rodin, given the boot, lets do an accounting of Mike Gillis 1st and 2nd round picks.

1st round picks

1. Hodgson
2. Schroeder
3. Keith Ballard
4. Jensen
5. Gaunce
6. Horvat
7. Shinkaruk

2nd Round picks

1. Sauve
2. Mallet
3. Rodin
4. -------
5. --------
6. -------
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Ouch!!!

Verses Benning's first Draft in 2014. There are potentially 5 NHL level players just in Benning's first draft! Genius!!!

1 Jake Virtanen Canada RW Playing
1 Jared McCann Canada C Playing
2 Thatcher Demko Will Play
3 Nikita Tryamkin Russia D Played, and probably will again
5 Gustav Forsling Sweden D Playing
6 Kyle Pettit Canada C Never
7 Mackenze Stewart Canada D Never

His next drafts are just as fruitfull:

2015

Buck Boser (kudo's to the theDogsalmon for that name)
Gaudette

2016

Olli Juolevi
William Lockwood

2017

Pettersson
Lind
Gadjovich
DiPietro
Rathbone
Gunnarsson - long shot, but maybe a swedish gem pick
Palmu - long shot, but fiesty scrapper that may not be denied

I am excited about this years draft. Pettersson looks like a stud!
