Oh very true, I was just responding to the suggestion that the Canucks looking better after 2 years of tanking was inevitable due to the high picks accumulated.

We must ensure credit is given where credit is due!

Mrs Desjardin loves the twitch.

Whew! I was worried the quota here wouldn't be met with Blobster in LV.

Silly me.

Tough to watch the games out east, certainly not worth staying up late for. I actually missed the Ducks game.

3rd for Dorsett - very little given up, valuable piece acquired, notwithstanding that the current production will not continue.
Those guys are playing great to start the year, and I guess that completely excuses the Vey / Sutter / Gudbranson / Prust deals.
Not sure if you actually are quibbling with any of these?

Good UFAs - Vanek - on pace for 25+ goals, 40+ points for 1 year x $2 mil.
Del Zotto - leading Dmen in scoring, could be first 35+ point dman in 3 years, leading in ATOI/game - 2 years x $3 mil.
Gagner - producing like a 3rd liner, paid like a 3rd liner, $3.15 mil x 3. At the very least, a not-terrible signing.

I don't think any of that is controversial, perhaps you had something of substance to add?
Nope, those are fine, as were his deadline deals last year. If anything, he's proven capable of learning from past mistakes. Like trading assets instead of using the waiver-wire (Vey vs. Boucher), using UFA appropriately (Eriksson vs. the trio above), and how to manage the deadline (Vrbata/Hamhuis vs. Burrows/Hansen).

Not trading UFA signings - Vrbata and Hamhius at the deadline! How devestating, what a shitty GM Benning is.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

He didn't have much options with either of those guys and he addressed what happened with Hamhuis/Dallas's embarrassing lowball offer.

Well, Jake is the one that takes the chair tonight in SJ.
Because L. Eriksson is back.
Micks back on the fence again, though he will offer some encouragement.

Go get em, Lou.
Score a goal.
Make a great pass.
Have a good PK
Break a leg.

Yes, Eriksson is back. Both Virtanen and Gaunce will sit.

Getting pretty crowded roster wise. A lot of speculation that Virtanen will be sent to Utica soon. More so because they want him playing more.
The only HW the Canucks need

Hasn't done much in a while. No harm sending him down for a while, but he is a better player than a few with roster spots, like Gaunce and Burmistrov who rarely contribute anything offensively.

Well I think Jake has made a pretty good showing for the opportunities and ice time he has had.
If this roster spot problem continues, Jake will be the sacrificial lamb.
Because he can go up and down, blah, blah, blah.
Doing what's best for the team, and team spirit, does not mean always going by the book.
I know at this point, if I were jake, the last trophy I would give a flying **** about, is the Calder Cup.
