Green/Baumer got the best out of AE this season, just like they wanted.
We should find a way to trade him now, while his value is as high as it is ever going to get, before he gets hurt (again) and the value comes back down to earth.. and then we be lucky to get back a bag of pucks.
I thought we blamed the last 4- 5 seasons on Gillis since the genius does nothing wrong, plus the past few seasons was not a real indication of who Edler is.

and offensive jugger not, lil trojan tied with Tanev for 11 points from Canuck D. Lil trojan also played 26 more games than Tanev. In fact Biega played 24 fewer games than the lil trojan and had only 2 fewer points.

Poiliot and PornScag had respectively 3 and 14 more games than the lil trojan and both doubled his point output.
How many points did Gudbranson have ?
5 with twice as many goals as the lil trojan in 16 few games.

and since I know you are dying to know (hyperbole, because if you were actually dying to know, I'd let you die) STALWART Luca Sbisa had 3 more points in 38 fewer games than the lil trojan.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

From Vito Corleone himself...the big homie.
Francesco Aquilini:

Just want to add a few personal thoughts to what Trevor, Jim, Travis and the players said to the media this morning.

First of all, I want to thank all our loyal Canucks fans.

I also want to personally apologize to you, because I understand how disappointed you are with how the season went

I know you’re disappointed, but, believe me, nobody is more disappointed than me!

Injuries played a role all year, but of course every team deals with injuries. As we build depth, we’ll handle them better.

This season our young players learned important lessons about how hard it is to win at the NHL level.

Now everybody in the organization needs to commit to the hard work and sacrifices needed to get better.

From me personally, from the ownership group on down, we all need to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, how can I help this team get better.

It will happen. Late in the season we started to see the kind of team we are becoming—young, fast, gritty, all out hockey.

Without the Sedins, it’ll be very different next year. Their incredible skill, leadership and character can’t be replaced.

We’ll be a younger team, but a well-coached, well-managed young team can mature and come together quickly.

Look at Colorado and New Jersey this year, making the playoffs. Look at Arizona in the second half of the season. Look at our last 10 games.

Our goal is to be a perpetual contender. That journey starts right now. This city deserves another run at the Stanley Cup.

We’ve got the right management, first-rate coaching staff, and more great young talent than in a long time.

Thank you again for your support. It means everything to the players and everyone in the organization. We are all Canucks!
Without the Sedins, for me it seems the youth will shine, team will be filled with youthful energy and young leaders notably a one Bo Horvat.

Markstrom should in theory get better as that was basically his first real season as a #1, now he knows what to expect mentally.
I think they bring in a one year vet goalie (a guy who knows it's his job to be a backup with years of experience) & say adios to Nilsson. Let Demko play like 70% AHL - 30% NHL duties slowly grooming him for the NHL.

Young/fast/gritty sounds like Evander Kane will return home to me, he embodies that skill set that management/coach is trying to implement of being a hardworking/skill team that plays with zestful energy in abundance.

They will keep a lot of cap space and will acquire more picks so they can be ready for any future dougie hamilton scenarios or just draft a lot of dmen.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

I like the idea of Kane, but will his personality and attitude be more destructive than the value he brings?? I am a big fan of integrity and strong character. I have yet to hear those words used to describe Kane.

I'm a big fan of the Patriots model, take some player head cases but who have clear talent to get the job they need done, to help win championships.

Sedins had elite integrity and strong character but that never really got us the Cup :o , anyways the team needs some speedy, gritty, hardworking players who can play and have scoring skills, plus the league is ruthless man - sometimes you need some wolves to play vs the wolves out there.

I should add it depends on the draft, if you take Tkachuk for instance OR you trade with the Wild for Nino (cap reasons), then you won't need to sign EKane.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Taking Tkachuk has nothing to do with signing Kane.

No to El Niño. Decent player but makes a bit too much for what he produced this year.

Too much doesn't matter to anyone but the owners. It is objectively too much, but that's opportunity because the Wild want to get him (or at least Coyle) off the books. There is cap space galore for the Canucks; you don't overpay UFAs, you take on overpaid RFAs and UFAs that others have signed and will add items to alleviate their Cap burden. The bigger potential problem is term; 4 more years on that contract -- taking cap space when it might matter (i.e., to push the Canucks into a contender if prospects mature) and be potentially difficult to move.

But I think he is a great target. Young enough where if he clicks and fits he can be part of the next wave. Expensive enough to where a cap challenged team like the Wild who have Dumba and Zucker to sign might want to not just Nino him for cheap, but add pieces to move him. And their prospect depth is nothing to sneeze at. Maybe they would be interested in joining the brothers Granlund.....

I have no problem taking Coyle or Nino off the Mild but they’d have to sweeten the pot as you say.

They may be able to move them to another team just making a hockey trade. I wasn’t aware the Mild were going into a cap crunch

When weaponizing your cap room, the shittier the contract you take the bigger your return I imagine. How shitty do you wanna go regarding relieving another of some heavy weight

They aren't, at least not enough to pay someone to take 40-50 point players in their mid-20's like Coyle or Nino.

If anything, Ennis ($4.6M) or Foglino ($2.8) could be dumped.

I'm thinking Orpik+Fla's 2nd for our 5th. Then we turn around and trade Hutton for a 3rd.

The other one, might not work with ownership, is Spezza in Dallas. He's got a M-NTC (10 teams, and we're likely on it), but you might be able to get a 2nd and a 3rd/4th to take him off their hands.

Boeser on track for full recovery from both back and wrist injury and will be able to get the full summer to workout.

From SN:

"The scoring star from Burnsville, Minn., and the University of North Dakota said Wednesday that his recovery is on schedule. He also said a lingering injury of his wrist, which Boeser jammed Feb. 8 in Tampa but caused him to miss only one game, will not require surgery.

Boeser flew home to Minnesota on Monday to consult with Dr. Stephen Olmsted, the orthopedic surgeon who operated on the same wrist last season during the player’s final year at North Dakota.

“It’s the same wrist but a different injury,” Boeser said, adding that his wrist should require only a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection and four weeks of immobilization."
