Re: Puck Possession for EP

Post by SKYO » Sat May 26, 2018 12:42 pm

For Pettersson it's just being smart like the Sedins, being really aware of where everyone is with 360 vision, positionally smart, don't be flying into danger zones, learn to make plays to get defenders off you at the opportune time, don't stay around the net/crease too long as that's where the 'crease clearer's' are in their zone to wreak havoc.

Puck possession for he and Dahlen will be paramount, that's how the Sedins lasted even though they weren't fast or built like Rod Brind'Amour, they just kept moving around, making plays, then went into the slot when they saw an opportunity to strike quick and score.

A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

If your local, Benning coming on 650am radio within a couple of minutes to talk about Pettersson.
Pettersson says he feels ready for the NHL and comfortable at centre or wing.

Says he's up to 177 lbs now and can begin full training in 3 weeks (when thumb is healed).

Maybe he can afford to buy his parents some decent furniture.

That table looks like a wire spool with a coat of paint.
Look at the size of that cranium. He better think the game at a high level.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

Not many 6th round 5'6 players make it - but... guess we'll see.

Not holding a spot for this kid just yet. ;)

It's old school hockey but he was built well, pretty fast and didn't get knocked off the puck easily.

There was Ronning too but he was taller- 5.7

We used to have the green men.
People that have kids should dress them up with green men masks with antennas and wear Pettersson jerseys.
Elias's nickname in Sweden is already Alien.
It'd be pretty cool to have a bunch of little green men at the games to support him.
We are all Jim Benning.

I’m not sure Cliff was 5 ft 7. A lot of these guys heights and weights are fudged. Brendan Morrison for instance at 5ft 11. LOL!!, Brad May at 6ft 1, Jarome Iginla as well. I’m 6ft and I’m either taller or eye to eye than both of those guys. Gino was not a big man. Brashear and Bertuzzi absolute gorillas. Tiger Williams not very big but massive paws. Harold Snepsts and the Chief Delorme as well.

He is taller at eliteprospects.com.
Just an inch, but still. Taller btw does not indicate tall...
