Sedins $14M coming off the books, along with Higgins/Hansen and possibly Guds/Vanek.

Also the Cap is expected to rise by another $5m - $7M.
Maybe we make a phat offer to Evander "Show Me the Money" Kane. :P
I hope so!!!

There are potentially only 2 or 3 TOP UFAs available this summer

... and a lot of teams will have a lot of cap-room.

So Eastvander should land a HUGE contract.

He has made it clear in the past that Vancouver is his preferred destination.

This will help GMJB, but he'll still have to "overpay" in typical top-UFA-signing fashion.

As we all know, EK is an asshole... and our Canucks are lacking in that department.

The chance that we might land a goal-scoring top-six ASSHOLE

... well it makes me positively giddy.

And the only asset we would have to give up is a coupla mill in cap-space overpay per year.

Amazingly (after the first quarter of the season) he's doing about as well as Matthews.

Perhaps. But he might not be a good role model for the young guys.

Morning Skate: Still waiting on Loui in Vancouver
The natives are getting restless with Loui Eriksson in Vancouver. He hasn't lived up to the big contract he signed with the Canucks and you can't say that a lot of people around the Bruins didn't see this coming. Loui is a nice guy and has some pretty good skills as a two-way forward, but in my opinion, the fire doesn't burn quite as brightly for him when he's comfortably in the middle of a long-term deal. This was inevitable no matter where he signed.
Isn't that ancient news? Hasn't Louie been great this season so far? 14gp 5g 6a 11p doesn't seem to be a problem to me. All it would have taken was a quick fact check. Ah that Eastern media displaying their lack of knowledge about the far west once again. Pathetic. :eh:

HW. Boeser has made you look off your rocker all season.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

He was on the ice that late in the game to prevent goals and hit an empty netter if the chance arose. Not bad for a rookie.

Lol. Thanks Blob. I think Louie is going to be the Louie we thought he'd be. And yes, I still like Trump. :)

I admit I was in the 'fuck it' mode and wanted eriksson traded as I got caught up in the emo depression posters, but originally - even SL can locate my old posts on Eriksson - in that Loui always takes a bit to come around to his new team and he needs a good passer to be successful, I think Vanek has been great in this regard.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Chaput or Megna would miss those empty netters.

When Gudbranson returns soon, I'd suggest taking out Stecher.

MDZ - Tanev
Edler - Pouliot
Hutton - Guds
Stecher(healthy scratch, gotta get him 100% motivated again)

I don’t think he’s been any worse than Pouliot, Del Zotto or Hutton lately. Problem is all those guys are lefties. Del Zotto has been terrible the last half dozen games.
