No expectations for any contribution next season, but I think it's also too early to lower his projected ceiling.

I'd really like to know the true status of his shoulder. Hockey Widow, do your inside sources extend to the medical staff ? Who is the Canucks consulting orthpaedic surgeon on these things ?

Nope. No idea and no medical sources.

Yeah, I argued hard against some of the top posters at the time (Potatoe, Coco, etc).

A lot of people were saying the game is changing, no need for assholes.

I distinctly remember debating this issue hard in the summers of 2010 + 2011.

So yes I agree about the need for assholes... especially when a team enters the contender phase.

But perhaps in the rebuild phase a team needs to evaluate young skill players first?

I suppose for now I'm going to have to make due with Dorsett, Guds... and a little Virtanen, Pedan.

Not sure why Bubbly Blob keeps saying I like a soft team, probably the booze talking...

I've decided to re-post the above every time Bubbly Blob trolls in this particular fashion.

20 demerit points for poster Blob.

No offense but that is the dumbest thing ever posted in Canucks Corner history!

Stanton turns 28 next week and just signed a 2-year 2-way contract.

(he will make $300K in the minors, he's been waiver-fodder in the past and will be in the future)

Vegas selected Sbisa, no fricken way would they have chosen Stanton if he were still here.

The way you constantly perform the ole Harry Neale on Stanton + McGinn is shameful...

Guddy handled Kassian last fall just fine iirc.

Yup.

In fact I don't think the kid has lost a decision over the past few seasons:

http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/9031

For all we know, Guds, Dorsett, Virtanen, and Pedan... might ALL hold roster spots by season's end.

BTW I see a lot of posts here saying Dorsett has a bad neck.

Not true, he had a bad neck for at least two years

... he got the surgery to ensure that will no longer be a problem moving forward.

I haven't seen much of Del Zotto, but I understand he likes to finish his checks (doesn't fight though).

We will see what Luca's next contract looks like when he doesn't have Uncle Elmer there to bend over for him.

Hey George McPhee, how many prospects will it take for you to remove Garrison from our payroll? - Yzerman

Hey JimBro Benning, sorry we are taking Sbisa - George McPhee

So by season's end, we might have some spine.

That might be the popular theory - the skilled players get knocked out, leaving room for some 'grit' players to move up.

Of course, it's possible we start with all four players mentioned above.

And now they can't even get a 7th for him. Vegas has had him on the market for threee weeks and nobody has bit.

Tampa ditched Garrison for cap reasons and they wanted to keep their young forwards. If Vegas was allowed to pass on Vancouver's meagre offerings at the Expansion Draft I can guarantee they would have. McPhee has to be kicking his own ass for passing on Boucher and Gaunce.

THEY CANT GIVE HIM AWAY.

Pretty funny that Blob has no time for any of those players - I guess he's a closeted lover of Lars Molin hockey!

(Sorry for stealing your phrase Blob, that's actually my favourite line of this thread!)
