Re: Expansion draft
From SN
The Blue Jackets are expected to give Vegas the 24th-overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, and a prospect in return for Golden Knights GM George McPhee selecting one of Ryan Murray, Matt Calvert, or William Karlsson.
Portzline did say that the prospect being sent to Vegas would not be Sonny Milano or Pierre Luc-Dubois and that the injured David Clarkson may also be sent to Vegas in the trade.

Re: Expansion draft
This expansion draft is adding some extra bit of fun to the spring season. Vegas has a sweet deal compared to previous expansion drafts. They will be able to build a competitive team in record time I think.

Re: Expansion draft
Looking at who is available is a good reminder about why not to get too excited about can't miss draft choices. It may be a second chance for a lot of guys if they get picked.
Re: Expansion draft
Including their gear, take a 747 to move that many goalies. Holy Crap!Island Nucklehead wrote:Protected lists released. No surprises with Vancouver

Re: Expansion draft
So how many 1st round picks have the Knights reaped? So far the Islanders and Blue Jackets. The Knights have some pretty good leverage in getting the Devils 1st overall.
DOYLE WOULD’VE RATHER HAD KEVIN HAYES AT 7 YEARS 7 MILLION PER INSTEAD OF J.T. MILLER FOR A LATE 1ST RD PICK

I think there would be 2 strategic plans here for Vegas with one being get the highest pick possible in your first draft, but the other plan would be to get as many picks as possible.. they will need youth to stock their farm team and get a development system started. I would be doing the expansion draft with an eye for expiring contracts that are good assets at the trade deadline.. a lot of these players picked in the expansion draft could be moving a lot...

Re: Expansion draft
I thought there was a rumor that Anaheim may have a deal, too?
Maybe LV has 4 first rounders in this draft, or more???
Too bad the draft bites and they'll all be busts.
They should try to get 2018 picks instead.

Re: Expansion draft
Yeah the GK's could set themselves up nicely as sellers for next years trade deadline. They could also load up on goalies for trading out as well. Me thinks the NHL is being very generous to the new kid on the block.

They could rig the expansion draft giving them access to only undesirable scrubs and no loopholes for gaining extra draft picks the way the NBA did with the grizzlies, no?Madcombinepilot wrote:'Generous' in that 500 million dollar kind of wayRoyalDude wrote:Yeah the GK's could set themselves up nicely as sellers for next years trade deadline. Benoit Benjamin Blue Love Child Edwards Greg Anthony headed Up by Brian Winters what a fucking disaster I still get nightmares... The only person who came out of that feeling better was Lil Arthur banging cheerleaders leaving his wife living that mid life crisis ownership in name but not in the pocketbook sorta lifestyle Griffiths... Its been all downhill for Lil Arthur since those expansion draft days...RoyalDude wrote:They could rig the expansion draft giving them access to only undesirable scrubs and no loopholes for gaining extra draft picks the way the NBA did with the grizzlies, no?Madcombinepilot wrote:'Generous' in that 500 million dollar kind of wayRoyalDude wrote:Yeah the GK's could set themselves up nicely as sellers for next years trade deadline.
