Re: Canucks Contracts
I would like to see jake at 3 years, around 2 mil a year.
Long enough that he knows he has time to get that 'long development for power forward' time, cheap enough if he flops out, it's no biggie (cap wise, we are good for a few years), and just enough to motivate him to go for the big bucks by being great.

The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

Re: Canucks Contracts
I think Sven Baertschi's last deal (2 years, $1.8M per) makes sense.
It's a raise, but it essentially gives Jake two years to decide if he wants to rise up the depth chart and make some real money, or if he's destined to become a depth energy forward.

Re: Canucks Contracts
I'd go cheaper, shorter term, make him hungrier for that bigger payday, dangle the carrot contract, and wait to see how he fits in with the new young group.Island Nucklehead wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 8:05 am I think Sven Baertschi's last deal (2 years, $1.8M per) makes sense.

Horvat $5.5m per.
Zucker $5.5m per with 82gp 33g-31a 64pts last season.
Should help with the Boeser contract a bit if he doesn't score 40.
