Canucks prospect Elias Pettersson with 14 points on the season leads all U20 players in the SHL. That is DOUBLE the 2nd place player!
*Make that 5 points for Pettersson today - as he picks up a primary assist on Vaxjo's sixth goal

Holy Crap, no question the guy has an elite NHL shot! Are those games always that wide open?

Here's Dahlén's game from last night: http://www.hockeyallsvenskan.se/hockeya ... ideo=lood5
Timrå in red and white.
But the true stars are the Björklöven fans; hear how they sing and chant throughout the game, even when their team is trailing by three goals. Best crowd in Sweden, imho.

Big ice hockey. Means there is more room for the forwards. Especially since they took away the red line offside.micky107 wrote:Holy Crap, no question the guy has an elite NHL shot! Are those games always that wide open?
I think that may be why so many Swedish d-men succeed in the NHL. The narrow rink makes it tougher for the forwards but actually easier for the defence. A lot less blue line to patrol.

Here's a link to where he stacks up presently to other U20 players in the past who have played in the SHL, pretty good company. The other thing to take into perspective is that Pettersson just seems to be getting more comfortable every game!!!SKYO wrote:Word zem, Pettersson is on fire lately - homeboy leads all under U20 players in the SHL in points.

Pettersen dominating in Swedens man league. Genius draft pick!
Dahlen, Juolevi, Lind, Gaudette, Demko, Lockwood, Pettersen, Gadjovich, Goldobin, DiPietro, Tryamkin. The future's so bright I need to wear Vuarnets!

They are a nice stable of prospects for sure but not one holds an NHL roster spot as of today.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
It is fantastic to see Pettersson rushing and scoring and looking great.
By next year though he needs to try and apply those same skills on N. American size ice surfaces.
I post this link because it's the only one I can find and if it's to be believed, only Finland has the hybrid ice.

If you see this Per, can you verify because I thought a couple more countries used it....
