Canucks Young Guns

Post by SKYO »

Thought I'd put all the talk about the young guys/blue chippers in one thread, the ones trying to make the team, just got drafted, putting in work.

In no particular order:

Forwards:
Brendan Guance, Yan-Pavel Laplante, Michael Carcone, Mackenze Stewart, Jakob Stukel, Cole Cassels, Zalewski, Dmitry Zhukenov, Adam Guadette, Brett McKenzie, Rodrigo Abols, Rodin, Alex Grenier, Borna Rendulic, Jayson Megna, Brock Boeser, William Lockwood, Lukas Jasek.

Defense:
Andrey Pedan, Subban, Stecher, Tom Nilsson, Ashton Sautner, Anton Cederholm, Guillaume Brisebois, Olli Juolevi, Carl Neill, Cole Candella, Tate Olson.

Goalies:
Demko, Garteig.

---------

canucksarmy just put up a new post about Cole Cassels

http://canucksarmy.com/2016/7/16/this-w ... e6892283bd
Travis Green: "He needs to become faster and stronger, and with that he'll have more confidence and be more like the player the organization envisions him to be, and not in a position where every night is a struggle. It's a tough league for young guys, but if they're willing to work and not take shortcuts, I'm more lenient. Cole never complained about his ice time, and that goes a long way with a coach."
I think he's a notorious slow starter, but blooms quickly as time goes on, and with all his injuries and 'memorial cup hangover' he was doomed last season. I'm hoping with a clean bill of health and good offseason training, he could/should have a much stronger season in 2016/17 for the 21 yr old, right-shot, two-way C/W.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Really ??? I am the voice of reason here. The way Skyo and the dude and the other guzzlers go on, one would think the Canucks were loaded with top end prospects. The system has gotten a bit better but it is by no means one of the better young groups in the league like they would have you believe. Optimism is great. I'm neither a pessimist or an optimist , more of a realist.

Lol in this thread Blob is kicking puppies, in another thread he is assaulting seniors:

"Sounds like the vets on the Canucks bark pretty big for a group who hasn't won anything. Bunch of staunchy old grouches , just lacking the success of the good teams"

THIS is a man who hates his team.

Sucks to be you Blobby! :-P

Interesting read. Benning has done a nice job in not only improving our D on the big club but in grabbing some prospects at that position as well. I'm like the Brisbois pick more and more. He will have a bigger role and more responsibility on his new club. Hoping he impress at the junior camp and makes the cut.

Can't help root for Subban to get a chance to play with the Canucks at some point this year. He has that same jerky skating style is PK.

Still work to do up front. Surprised Zuckenov didn't make the prospects list. I'm looking forward to seeing his development along with Abols, who impressed me at the prospects camp last year.
The only HW the Canucks need
