Bonino finishes 8th in playoff scoring. Not bad, eh Dude?
Bonino has been great as a third line cente, playing behind Crosby and Malkin. However, Bonino was the second center only behind Henrik, just not what he is suited for.
Turns out he's a better third line centre than the guy we traded him for.

Rutherford is a Genius.
What do you base this on? Your feelings ffs?
damonberryman wrote:As good as Bonino was, the Hagelin really made the line go. Having one of the best natural scorers in the game did not hurt either. Congrats to the Pens. They were the better team and deserved the cup. Crosby is amazing.
It's classic HFstyle, can't let any move go, like the love relationship a few posters had with santorelli, making it sound like the biggest mistake in franchise history letting him walk.

Good for bones, but as others said he got put in a perfect situation with the pens, you literally have to be a mentally challenged to not see that, when you got Crosby, Malkin, Kessel on three different lines, almost any player with them is gonna do well, especially as a distributor to the sniper Kessel who can carry any line on his own, just ask Bozak who used Kessel to get a $21M contract from the leaves, Bones will get a similar contract in 2017 if he keeps playing with Kessel next season.
Pittsburgh has a relatively weak defence that needed careful management. the Penguins boast a collection of high-end scoring stars mixed with less potent depth pieces.

It’s worth looking at how Pittsburgh found success with that profile of roster. It starts with how they use their forwards.

What isn’t debatable is that the last two Cup winners have for the most part taken a “distributed” approach. Chicago has generally played Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on separate lines, creating matchup problems for the opposition. Pittsburgh took things a step further in the playoffs with three potent lines:

Conor Sheary / Sidney Crosby / Patric Hornqvist.

Carl Hagelin / Nick Bonino / Phil Kessel.

Chris Kunitz / Evgeni Malkin / Bryan Rust.
Every Cup team has star power on more than one line, it's why Willie Desjardins wanted Vrbata to thrive on another line rather than with the Sedins, but Vrbata acted like a lilbitch about it, now he's gonna pay with a lower contract this offseason.

Anyways it's why I want to go gungho after stammer, he can carry a line on his own, behind the sedins and after the sedins are long gone.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
