The 33rd overall stings ... but a previous poster said it best when they mentioned that only about 50% of 2nd rounders end up playing in the league full-time. And only about 20% of Mike Gillis' first rounders do :D
Actually...33.3% see a 100 games...plus EG was a #3 pick himself
That stat is pretty misleading on it's own too. 100 games is not much of a benchmark. Signing a 2nd contract is a better litmus test to see if a pick turned into a significant NHL player or not. Not perfect, but better.
You got that stat somewhere?

Statistics can be helpful but one must be careful to accept them for what they are.
That can vary greatly.
Example: If you read that 2nd round picks only make it to the NHL a certain percentage, check the length of the stat.
If it's encompassing 50 years, it's not really fair.
In this case you would want to find something only 5 to 10 years old as the game goes through changes every 5 years or so and Development is a world better than it was.
This is just one example how certain stats can be misleading..

Where is Doc?

It must be one hell of a post he is working on not to comment yet???

Stats, all stats, are like Enron accounting, you can make the numbers show what ever you want them to.

Fancy stats are for people who wear formal clothing and drink tea with one finger in the air, but it still does not mean much.

I haven't seen anyone around here who would be happy with a 3rd lately. :?

Maybe a year ago?

Which of course is the point: SELL HIGH

*knocks on Micky's forehead*

UMMMMMM... "transitioning to a younger core"... remember??

Don't trade him now... and soon folks will be saying: "We should've traded him while he had value!"

All players age, and Hansen is on the wrong side of 30... (30 + 3 months) :mex:

Lol Burrows + Higgins were much better players in their prime than Hansen!

WDF!!
Well now, boy, if this is your idea of "fucking destroying me", I am laughing...

Better yet, why don't you try actually watching the N.H.L. Vancouver Canucks Hockey Team's games, in their entirety. They say humans don't learn things well as they age but couldn't you at least try? I mean just a bit.

I could take the time and effort to point out to you why your wrong but why bother.
You will just carry on with your witty little, I mean attempted witty, grab a sentence, here and there, posts anyways. Have fun with that.
Rip away bud, I aint goin anywhaere..
You mad bro? 8-)

Yeahno, not "my idea of fucking destroying you" bro.

When it happens you'll know!

Just. Like. Last. Time.

A nice Chianti and plate of fava beans for nothing.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I can't say that I do, but I remember seeing it a few years ago. In fact, it was broken down by draft number. 1-20 were separated out, 21-30, 31-45, 46-60, 61-75, etc. If I find it again, I'll post it.

Canucks wanted to get the deal done quickly before other teams like the Oilers were made aware as both the oilers and Canucks have been kicking the tires on Barrie lately. Just find it odd you say that the Oilers offered Yak and a 2nd when no other team was bidding on Gudbranson but the Canucks.
How about this.

Benning was trying all over the league to trade McCann+ for a top-4 RHD.

Meanwhile Florida had been in secret talks with Oilers/Leaves in regards to Gudbranson.

Florida hears about Benning's efforts and they like McCann (for the reasons HW says).

Florida tells Benning that if he wants to beat offers from Oilers/Leaves

... it's gonna hafta be McCann + 33rd as the basis of a trade.

48 hours later.... :mex:

Seriously Dude... HW has proven herself to be THE BEST inside source on Canucks for over a decade!

Are you jelly or wut??

Talk to me Dude, what's going on big feller.
Totally agree with Strange on this one. The Widow's posts are a part of what keeps me on this board. She tells us a trade is brewing and then....voila! Dude is not acting like the Dude. Also, does anyone know anymore about the report on Sportsnet that Brower is looking to come West to Van?
