LOL

Canucks are in a holding pattern with a couple of potential deals they could make and a handful of FA they like.

Benning is likely to make 1-2 more moves in all of that, not all of the deals nor sign all of the FAs  but unless the offers change he is content to play the long game right now.

Hearing they want to move one D man and it depends upon offers. They would like to move Sbisa but don't be surprised to see Pedan moved.

The Canucks would like to add an experienced veteran D man to play the 7th-8th role if they can. But to do that they need to clear space, cap and roster. They are looking for leadership and a player who can step in during injuries but be comfortable being a scratch, something they don't want with either Biega nor Pedan.

Larsen is penciled in to play third line but first unit PP. One of the reasons he agreed to return to the NHL was to quarterback the PP with the twins.

So the plan is still to upgrade the top six and cull the D core.
Thanks H-dubz.

The bolded part sounds like Kris Russell. ayyyy

Can't wait for the dominoes to drop so the transactions can begin.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

Hi
My name is Cherry Picker and before I return to Canucks Central, I'd like to come clean. I have a record and a dark and nasty past.
I was recently banned from HF boards for repeatedly saying, "We are all Jim Benning" at the end of my posts.
They said I was trolling. Look at my Avatar, does that look like the face of a troll.
Now, my intention is to find a non-communist, totalitarian place in this world where a person can aspire for a people to be any other person he or she dreams they can be. If that's a problem, please let me know?
Secondly, as we last talked about here at Canuck Central, we need more assholes on the team. I think this conversation has been going on for a while. Something must be done.
Thirdly, can someone let me know if I can say asshole before I say it. HF Boards has me spooked. It's kind of a cross between the KGB and a residential school.
Thirdly plus another one, the defense is great. Stop worrying so much. There see I was talking about hockey so get off my back.
Thirdly plus another one, "We are all Jim Benning."

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. Don't get you shorts in a knot.
I'm eagerly anticipating responses to my post. I think it's the best one I've made here all year.
Am I banned yet?

Welcome Cherry Picker!!

You've come to the right place.

Here at the Corner we are all Jim Benning (except Blob McKenzie, we're not sure who the hell he is)

Say "asshole" more and you'll fit right in.

Now I know I don't post a lot but I do read regularly and I don't remember seeing this before. Is Benning ready to move on from Sbisa just as he did from Bonino? So basically Gudbranson, Sutter, and a 2nd for Kesler?

So...keep Sbisa...get him a nice recliner and a pizza in the broadcast booth...and only let him out when we need him. We missed so many man-games on defence last year that if Sbiza was our #7 or #8, he'd still get 45 games. Btw, last season, our 7th-10th d-men played 51,45,13 and 13 games each.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

Damn - Canucks Corner!
It's all coming back to me now. It was a dark and stormy night.
The Czar, his wife and their three children at Central were assassinated by Major Oliver North over weapons going to Iran, and millions of huddled masses fled to HF boards that represented freedom from covert assassins. The other group migrated here behind the wall I guess, where there were rumors of torture and abuse. But in the end, it looks like you've thrown off you oppressors and created a world where assholes can blossom and freedom reigns. While my own journey has gone the opposite way. Where freedom once lived, oppression has sewn tiny seeds of evil, only to grow and cast me asunder. Cherish and protect what you've grown here...

Ummm, hang on, or was this the one where Cersie blew up the seven septans with wild fire....aw forget it.

Anyway HW tell the boss (like you would have any connection to him, what a joke - ha ha ha ha ha) wink, wink, nudge, nudge - (see what I did there)

The proper defensive pairings should be:
Tanev Trymakin (aka Groot)
Grudbranson Hutton
Larsen Edler

With the last pairing sneaking out as often as possible with the Sedins to create a euro-style five man unit (minus Britian of course. Man I hate tennis!)
Groot is solid. He'll have no problems holding up his end with Tanev.
You can just mention that to nobody in particular.
We are all Jim Benning.

Glad to see you finally popped your cherry here in the wild west of canucks country.

Yes for their health and mental well-being some of the old central did flee from the torture and abuse they endured.

bckev wrote:Good info widow, kind of what I guessed was happening. I see Benning being patient now and waiting to see who he can take advantage of.
Patience isn't signing Sutter, Dorsett, and Sbisa, to contracts that tie up way more than what they should in cap space.

Do you think there is potential that Benning could have landed Loui Eriksson AND another one of the higher end free agents if he had another $3M or so in space?
