Location/team will be the only issue re Demko. West vs East. In the west there are a number of teams who could use him. Calgary, Arizona, just to name two. Back east a whole whack of teams would be interested. So if really will boil down to where he wants to play. So far, since being drafted, he has said all the right things about Vancouver. No reason yet to think that has changed.

All the players are moving on from Boston College
Santini, Wood, Alex Tuch and Gilmour are out.

Once Demko signs, there team officially begins a rebuild.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

The two "locks" to go, Demko and McCoshen, haven't announced yet, but are considered extremely likely to.

The only advantage Demko has by waiting until next summer is he will be UFA next August. The terms of the contract won't change. So being UFA is a huge advantage if he doesn't want to play for Vancouver. But he would still be looking at the same issues. If he doesn't like the plan of playing in Utica for at least one year and wants to jump right to the NHL then he will go UFA. But he can stay in college and if his team is eliminated before the frozen four he could sign then, play a game, and burn a year on his ELC. But he can only do that with Vancouver because he won't be FA until August.
So, signing with us is a real advantage. If he burns a year of ELC, he is a year closer to the big money. No one knows if he is going to be a Cory Schneider, or a Kevin Weekes, or Curtis Sanford. My point is that it's not in his best interest to waste one of his possible high earning years by not burning through his ECL as fast as possible. We hope he plays 15 years as our #1, but it is just as likely he only gets 5 or 6 real years in the leage. He's a UFA at 27 anyways, so he wil get to play his prime years wherever he wants to.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

I'm usually pretty amped up after the end of the season. But this year I'm amped up even higher I like watching the kids play the thought of getting rid of a few of the contracts we have the thought of who we may get in the draft plus possibly pick up a UFA don't know

So yeah the struggles of being a Canuck fan continue we're fickle we have very strong ankles but we continue
You are who you hang with.....

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

i wonder if we could send Chris Higgins to Columbus to get them to commit this years second to us, maybe get them to throw in a seventh next year. Torts is a big Higgins fan. I think this years second round is a lot stronger than next years.
