Jim help the twins

Post by volsungr »

Mr Benning try to trade them now try to send them to a contender where they might win a Cup before they finish their career and get something in return to help build a team for the future because this team will not be going anywhere for awhile. trading them to a contender will be very hard due to contracts and salary caps, but for all they have done for the organization it will be so nice to see them at the end of their career going to somewhere where they might be able to win because it's not going to happen here and I've been a Canuck fan a long time.

How about keeping the twins and bringing in help to help them here in Vancouver.

If you're going to trade them to another team to win a cup it will be TDD of their final year of their current deal.

The amount of help the twins will need would cost about 40-50 million in cap space. It baffles me how a team that is this poor is crammed right up against the cap .

Why do you care?

Pretty much every team is sitting somewhere between $60 - $70M this year.

Canucks are one of them. :eh:

I don't actually care . I am just puzzled at how such a poor team is jammed up against the cap . Excuses for how lousy they are would be easier if they were a floor team . I realize they aren't the only shitty team up against the cap and it isn't my money but with a 65 cent dollar looming and the prospect of a shitty team for the next few years I can't imagine the deigos are going to be willing to spend to the cap every year when the playoffs are a pipe dream .

http://www.generalfanager.com/teams

Teams are closer in spending this particular year.

Canucks are closer to the $70M end, but with $12M on 3 guys (Hamhuis+Vrbata+Prust) up for sale.

There's no problem here and cheaper kids will be replacing more expensive vets over the next few years.

Because Blobby wants the wiggle room at the trade deadline to make bold aquisitions and again to overspend on FA's come July.

He hasn't grasped the concept of vets out, elc's in.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

He hasn't grasped the concept of grossly overpaying mediocre players like Sbisa, Miller , Dorsett and Sutter

I see you didn't mention upcoming ufa Bartkowski and Weber. Is it safe to assume that they are earmarked for long term deals like Sutter got ?

Why would I mention those dudes among the "players up for sale"?? :?
Blob Mckenzie wrote: Is it safe to assume that they are earmarked for long term deals like Sutter got ?
No, those two will likely walk as UFAs after this season as they are depth pieces.

Sutter got a long-term deal because he is a foundation piece.

Is any of this getting through? :scowl:

First of all, you’re wrong.

Secondly, again, why do you care?

For the umpteenth time, we are in the midst of a rebuild, meaning:

… the focus should be on what this team is going to look like 3-4 years from now.

How many times do I have to say that to you Blob? :hmmm:

Will any of those players still be here 3-4 years from now?

Why are you soooo focused on how this team will look in the interim?

Think Blob… T H I N K

Just out of curiosity would Brandon Sutter be a foundational piece on a good hockey team or just this one ?

As I said... directly to you... the other day in a GDT:

Sutter has put up top-6 minutes on his team every season except his first (as a teenager in 2008-09).

He was also top-6 in team goalscoring each year on those teams (Pens + Canes)

... all the while being utilized primarily as a shut-down centre.

Have you noticed how your pal Nick Bonino has failed miserably to fill Sutter's skates in Pittsburgh?

I know you're frustrated because Benning is always right and you're always wrong, but try to be a man buddy! :mex:

A better question may be is Brandon Sutter a number 2 centre on a good team ?
