Grenier cut today, heading to Utica, hopefully he has another strong year.

Just show him some millionaires goalie pads and stick him in BC Place with a psychiatrist = Bingo Bango Bongo PTSD!Tciso wrote:So, that's easily do-ableStrangelove wrote:NONEMëds wrote: Is there any scenario in which Luongo could "retire" and the Canucks NOT be nailed by the recapture monster?
(note the quotations on retire)
Well we could pray for him to become permanently partially disabled a la Pronger, but it's gotta be real...
Where is Tonya Harding these days, anyways?

Fedun placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment to Utica.
With the Higgins injury, 4 more cuts to go. Bachman will be one. Apparently Canuck brass were locked in a meeting for a few hours trying to make the final decision on cuts but they still don't have a consensus. Here is who I think it all revolves around
Higgins
Hansen
Vey
Kenins
Gaunce
Virtanen
McCann
Cracknell
McCann to get in the last preseason game as well. Gaunce probably. Virtanen maybe.
On D, there is a big push by a few brass to keep HUTTON. Others not so sure. He will likely see tha last game as well.
Do they carry 8 D and one extra forward or 7 D and two extra forwards? Tick tock, tick tock.

Sbisa should fake on injury so we can get a longer look at both Corrado and Hutton.
That would make him useful... for a bit.

There is a market for Hamhuis. Not right now, but after the season starts and rosters are set. Teams needing wanting a top four will have a better idea of what they need and how they can make room. If Hutton is ready why not explore trading Hamhuis now.

I'd personally be all for that. Not a bad out of the box idea. Can't see Jimmy going that route.Hockey Widow wrote:Eddy Punch Clock wrote:Sbisa should fake on injury so we can get a longer look at both Corrado and Hutton.

Besides, Hammy might have better trade value at the deadline and by that time we'll see if the long NHL season is starting to wear on Hutton.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Hmm... I can live with this. How much would it have cost to buy out Luongo at that time? Like $22M? Hell, it's not even my money and I wouldn't want to buy him out. Just get rid of a Ballard/Booth type player on the roster and replace him with a rookie or a cheap fringe NHLer like MacMillans and we're fine.Island Nucklehead wrote:Just hope he retires in 2019. A $2.8M penalty for 3 years isn't completely terrifying. If he retires in 2020 it's a $4M hit for 2 years. Retiring in 2021 smacks us with an $8M, 1-year cap-hit. I'm thinking those are the years we'll want to maximize cap space too.
