Can't help myself from doing this, cause i still get pissed off about it:
- Juolevi selected instead of Matthew Tkachuk
Tkachuk with 26 frikin goals.

And here's another tidbit:
- Jarred McCann traded for Gudbransen
McCann with 15 goals

Thats a lot of offence man. In fact im inclined to say, this is offensive!

In the immediate aftermath of that pick, RoyalDude shared similar concerns about our future lack of scoring.

Goooooo Defence! Yay

Really curious how we find a first line after the Sedins retire in what, 2 years? That's going to be fun to watch. Yaaaaaaay Defence!

Tweener McCann. Game changer. You win with these guys

Imagine being an opposing coach facing McCann and Bonino as a 1-2 punch at center ice!

No kidding. That would be nearly as good as facing Guddy and Juolevi as 1 and 2 defencemen. A solid first pairing if there ever was!

With stalwarts McCann and Guddy together, dare I say cup favourites? :look:

Former Wild GM Cliff Fletcher's start with Minnesota is eerily similar to Jim Benning's start with the Canucks, no prospects, aging roster, cap probs.

Rebuilt team with quality prospects.

Fletcher had 9 seasons, made playoffs 6 yrs straight w/no success.

His errors were giving up picks/prospects too quick for the playoffs, acquiring too many aging vets. And in turn left the prospect cupboards kinda empty right quick. The vets took up too much cap space, and some didn't mesh well with the coaching staff, so Fletcher came full circle to where he started, lack of prospects, too much older vets with cap woes.

No superstar player in the fold.

Got fleeced by Vegas expansion draft, lost Haula + Tuch.

So Jimmy should learn from Fletcher's mistakes, don't give up picks/prospects too quick to make the playoffs, ease up on acquiring aging vets. Keep an eye on your long term cap situation.

And for the love of god prepare for the Seattle expansion draft.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

There weren’t any cap problems when Elmer started in Vancouver

..and there isn't any now. whats your point?

or we just going to give you an excuse to hammer on the couple contracts you don't like (again) for the millionth time?

We are actually in pretty good shape going into the next year, with contracts expiring as young the guys will need new ones. Should have about 7-8 million this year to spend on RH defencemen. Need a top 4 and a depth guy. The only contract I have a real issue with is Ericksson's, and that's because it was 2 years too long. Nobody expected him to deteriorate as bad as he has with us, but the last 2 years are on JB.
