Free Agency 2015

Re: Free Agency 2015
We either sign Cody Franson for something affordable (Home town boy), maybe possible right shot Mike Green OR just Y. Weber and roll the dice hoping Giordano or Seabrook hit UFA in 2016....which will come by pretty damn quick.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Re: Free Agency 2015
I read on the score Ehrhoff wants a cup contender team over money...
Looks like he won't be coming back

Re: Free Agency 2015
Save the cap space and bring in one rehab project defenseman for two years.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

My guess is they'll attempt to sign Eric Fehr and Matt Bartkowski.
Fehr replaces Richardson and Bartkowski provides lower pairing help, and insurance in case Corrado and Clendening aren't capable.

Campbell might be a better option for replacing Richardson on the 4th. Good PKer, checker, and willing to drop the gloves. He can be trusted to play a regular shift. He and DD would be a challenge to play against.

Re: Free Agency 2015
Ya I tend to agree. I was kidding on Ehrhoff by the way. His age and injury history are not what the Canucks are looking for. Someone like him you would want on a one year show me deal and not too many FA take those type of deals.
I too think Bartkowski, Irwin, Weber on D. Not sure if they sign a forward. We have 6 D now, none of who are waiver eligible and if we bring in two more that means we will be carrying 8 D. That means we can't carry an extra forward and so far only Kenins can be waived without risk. With Kenins and Grenier that's 12, and again, Kenins is the only one we don't risk losing up front. So barring any other moves we don't really have much room up front.
If we only sign one D that gives us another spot up front.
Still think we see another body or two, this time up front moved.

Duthie is funny, good signing for Canucks. They get their mobile D on a good contract who played his entire career with Buffalo, I think. Didn't he?
Edit
Ok, he thought it was Mike Weber

So far reasonable 1-2 year deals. Usually we see that the end of the day. Is this the year GMs get it?

At less cap then Bieksa. Same number of years as Bieksa has one plus a two year extension.doesn't make sense Anaheim made this move now. I though Beauchemin wanted like 5x5 or something crazy why Anaheim walked away. I'd rather have him for the next three years at 3M per than Bieksa at 4.6, then after that 2x4.

May as well bring Weber back. That has to be the smallest and softest right side D in the league . Flip Weber for a pick at the deadline . The left side had two quality defenders in Hamhuis and Edler but the teams defence after those two and Tanev is the worst in the league .

We should have kept the soft deft hands and puck moving transitional game of Stanton.Blob Mckenzie wrote:May as well bring Weber back.
