NHL TV Rights Lawsuit

Post by 2Fingers »

Living in a town where I can watch my home team and not worry about blackouts I am not up on what this lawsuit is all about. I don't understand why a blackout on Centre Ice would be bothersome to someone, could they not watch the game on their local cable?

Not everyone buys local cable. Why pay $$ for content that is 30-40% advertisements?

Some people prefer options, like Apple TV etc.

This is similar to what the CFL did with local blackouts, assuming more fans would attend games if it was blacked out. I grew up on the boarder of the Argo's local black out. We would walk a country mile, literally, to go to a friends house to watch the game. Somewhere along the line the CFL realized it had more to gain by changing.

This is an interesting case. It just makes no sense to me.
The only HW the Canucks need
