The parade of former Canuck executives turning up with the leaves continues. They've hired Laurence Gilman as Assistant GM.

Now they can find a legal loop hole and supersede the salary cap and worry about it later.Island Nucklehead wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 7:13 am The parade of former Canuck executives turning up with the leaves continues. They've hired Laurence Gilman as Assistant GM.

Hurricanes will definitely make a few deals over this offseason.

“The word out of Carolina is their open to doing a lot of things,” McKenzie said, adding the team is willing to listen on every player except forward Sebastian Aho.
McKenzie noted Toronto’s hesitation to move one of its top young forwards, like a William Nylander or Connor Brown, though suggested Brown could be in play if the right deal presented itself.
Maple leaves GM Kyle Dubas will weigh his options this summer, as Faulk is not the only defenceman the team has been linked to. Toronto has also reportedly had interest in such players as Vancouver’s Chris Tanev, Arizona’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Los Angeles’ Alec Martinez and Columbus’ David Savard.

"Toronto Maple leaves star forward Auston Matthews has switched agencies, moving from CAA Hockey to Orr Hockey Group."

“I get the feeling Matthews & Marner want to wait until next summer to sign”

So here's the plan.
Arizona offer-sheets Matthews next summer: 4 years times $16M
If Leaves don't match, coyotes get Matthews next summer.
If Leaves do match, coyotes get Matthews 4 years later. (as a UFA)

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
In less than a month Dubas wins the Calder cup and signs the biggest UFA in over a decade. And he beat Lou to it.
Mistake picking Kyle Dubas you say?

Seriously Tuna, you are one fucked up fan with no balls.
You stay away when the team lost in the playoffs and havent come here until now. Toronto still has FA and the horrible D so nothing changed.
You do have balls dont you?

Crushing for me? I never had any illusions of Taveras signing here. Toronto will be top heavy in a year or two and will need to make a move. The D is still weak but they should be an awfully entertaining team to watch.
