I could live with flipping Shinkaruk if we get that 10th overall from Anaheim for Kes.

I'm thinking we have a couple very high picks in next year's draft when it's all said and done as well.

Needs, scoring from right side either wingers or on D. Has had follow up discussions with one of the teams (presumable the Canucks) and odds of trading pick rising but not there yet.

MacKenzie again says Canucks offer is Hunter, the 6th and an unnamed roster player, presumably Hansen but not sure. Will not include Hunter and Tanev both.

I could live with Hansen + Tanev + 6th but losing Hunter will be a step backward. The Canucks will have zero depth on the left winger position.

If the Panthers want scoring on the right side, wouldn't Jensen be the guy they would prefer? He's also more "NHL ready." :eh:

If not, maybe the Canucks will "up" their offer and include their bestest prospect, Bo. 8-)

Besides the lack of prospect depth at LW, they have no prospect that has 1st line scoring potential in their system. Shinkaruk is their only prospect currently in their system that has that possibility. :mex:

I like the trading with Buffalo possibility (for the first).... and yeah, it 's likely going to be a long season before we're in a position of acquiring more quality draft picks in '15

Buff and the #nhljets #9 pick for Florida's #1? Chatter is out there #nhl

5:02 PM - 26 Jun 2014

Bfugly plus the 9th, the alleged offer offer from Jets.

Bfugly was one of Tallon's boys. :mex:

The latest from Eklund via http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/F ... er/1/60911:

Florida at 60%...make that 75% trading Top Pick. Vancouver?

A few hours ago I was told the Panthers are 60% trading the pick...that there had been a change in strategy in Florida...now I am told 75%. The race is afoot!

Hearing the Canucks are a definite possibility.

Stay tuned.

I'm told the #FlaPanthers were interested in the #Canucks 6th & 24th picks, but apparently weren't interested in Shinkaruk. @ctvvancouver

So, what else did they want? Bo? That also would have been too much, IMO.

So are some Alarm Bells raised on Shinkaruk when the Canucks' are allegedly offering him in trade and the other team doesn't want him? :hmmm:

If they don't have game breakers at C, maybe they have some at wing.

If so, who?

Shinkaruk who was being shopped? :hmmm:

Maybe next year. #TANK :mex:

Just remember, lots of scouts said Kesler wouldn't be anything more than a 3rd line checking center. He turned out to be a game changer in the Nashville series.

Yeah, maybe the Canucks' will get lucky just over two decades later. Apparently, McCann has a little bit of the Kesler "personality." :mex:

Our future game breakers are already injured - Shink/Virtanen.

Shinkaruk in a recent interview says he is 100% but needs to be medically cleared before resuming contact, Virtanen is slated to be ready for contact by mid-October so he'll miss rookie and main camp and will almost assuredly go back to Junior and if things go well make Team Canada for the WJHC.

Anyway, has there been confirmation on what the Canucks' "best" offer was for the No. 1 pick (last I read it was 6th, 24th and Shinkaruk) .......... and what the Panthers wanted from the Canucks to pull the trigger? :mex:

The truth of the matter is, Tallon was jerking off the other GMs & was never serious abo trading that pick. He *might* have done it if he could have ass raped a team.

Benning flat out denied he tabled two first and Hunter. Confirmed Garrison was part of the original offer to Panthers, who said they were in a win now mode. Benning said he felt early on in the process Tallon was not trading the pick but was fishing to see if he could get anyone to bite. Didn't say what his final offer was but the impression I got was that it was a swap of picks plus a roster player not named Tanev.

Dreger fuelled this nonsense and was once again proven wrong. I think the Panthers leaked all these rumours to try and get a bidding war going but it never came.

I really hope it wasn't Shinkaruk that was offered ... because it will say a lot about the management team and their feelings about where they project him to be as an NHL player and what another GM thinks of him if they were to decline that type of offer. Originally it was @FriedgeHNIC that reported that trade offer, and he's shown to be very reliable. Best case scenario is that was what Tallon asked and GMJB rejected it but the way EF framed it, it seemed like that was what the Canucks offered to Tallon. :mex:
